Back in the early 70s as a young fella I had this very unusual dream, never again experienced. I was outside, in March, early spring for us in Ontario. It was a little bit foggy with a very misty air. I could smell the earth thawing, feel the mist on my face, it was very vivid. In the dream I realized all I had to do was concentrate and I could levitate and essentially fly. I did, at first it took a lot of concentration and focus. But as I got higher and higher and could see the top of my apartment building and the view all around I lost concentration and started to fall. You know that type of fall feeling that oft ends dreams and wakes you up. In this case though, I just got concentrating again and I regained my flight profile. When I awoke I was immensely impacted by the dream and it led me to wondering the power of the human mind and the ability to do things without becoming into contact directly. I wish I could dream more like that instead of what terrors I dream about now.

Hugging Face is the open model hub: it hosts model weights, datasets, evals, & demo apps, and maintains the open-source libraries (like transformers) used to run and train them. I think of it like GitHub, but for AI models. You can download open models and run them on your own machines. In this series we'll cover what open source and open weight models are, how they work, how to run them yourself, and why they're important. By the way - this video is edited entirely with Claude!
