What’s thought on doing all these conditioning drills ball handling. Never understood why coaches don’t have players dribbling while conditioning

We play a very similar tag game, called "team toogle". You have 2 teams & 2 goals on each side, 1st players in line start @ same time, if runner → gets tagged = immediately teams switch roles! Tagged player must move back to his line.

Seems kids would just slow down every time and no one is ever tagged.
