Wow, that’s so hard to watch.

It was the best they had last night.

Wow, if that was the best I’d hate to see the worst. Do these guys not have anyone close that is honest with them? Sad to see some of my favorite bands like this.

We speculated the whole way home as to how it could get that bad. He went on very late too so the crowd was already booing before he came out. Then he started singing and people were walking out all over the place.

That has to be the most narrow concert hall I’ve ever seen.

It just looks that way. It’s shaped more like a baseball diamond. Here is where it is right outside the baseballl stadium. The venue is amazing, I will be back for certain and the sound was perfect. The lines were not long anywhere. I can’t say enough good things about Ferg’s.

Loved that band since 1983, and respect all that Don has done, but that’s pretty disappointing stuff right there. He has to make a living though…

I was torn about it too. That was actually the best of their show right there.

I figured it was, with him singing in Barry Whites range these days. The verses were always lower on Alone Again. I get it. I‘m 56 and sang in bands in the younger days and in no way can hit some notes anymore, but damn! 😂

It was still a great night seeing Lynch Mob.

Profilbild von Scott Dorn

Absolutely! And I would still enjoy just the fact that Don is still trying! The dude is 73 now, so I definitely cut him some slack. Not many of them left that we grew up with can still do it at all…

So Don has resorted to playing Fire Hall’s at this point? I was as big a fan as anyone, but this is too much. RETIRE!

No, this venue is great. It's Ferg's in St Pete... The venue is amazing and there were easily thousands of people there.

Dokken is one of my faves from that era. Ive seen Don as recently as a couple of years ago. He should stop. He had an amazing voice back in the day, but he's shot now. Time is a thief.

Love Dokken… But, that sounds Awful!! Some of these Old-Timers just can’t sing anymore. Don, Vince, Axl, Bon Jovi, etc. I can’t justify spending the money a lot of em are asking for, to see & hear them absolutely Destroy their own songs.

Sound wasn't good... tinny and hollow. Time has caught up I'm afraid.

Typically I always prefer to see the original singer over some random replacement (ie Foreigner and Journey). In this case, I think a new singer would be better. Either that or Don should just lip sync like Frankie Valli, because this is terrible.

Damn. Don got no lungs left. Sad. He was a pretty good vocalist once. Looks like there’s only 50 people there too. Double sad. Time to retire dude.

I loved Dokken back in the day. I still listen to their stuff from the 80s on a regular basis. I’ve never seen them live. I’m sorry, but THAT was horrible. I’ll stick to the old studio albums.

Somewhere in the not so distant future, I'm going to be hearing one of my heroes sing to me as I gum applesauce and reminisce the good-old-days.

I feel like in a world where many new artists used autotune from day 1. We should let Don and the others who we love autotune the crap out their voices so it’s at least ok.

A few years ago, Dokken and 4 other bands played an outdoor venue at the rodeo grounds in Tucson Az. (LA Guns,Quiet Riot, Dokken, Warrant and Night Ranger) I had all 5 of the complete band members Autographs on the white silk hat band of a Black fedora ( the ex from the time his it now. That was 2003 I believe😒

Can still hear the talent this guy has …he’s just old…while it is kind of sad ..nice to see he’s still around…I tell people when you get tickets to this guys nobody forced you..dudes like in his 70’s ..can’t expect much…but that’s just imo

Auto tune will pitch correct but it won’t give you technique, tone or emotion. It won’t make you a good singer It would improve this but not “fix” it. It would still be awful I’m assuming he’s had vocal injury. Age alone doesn’t do this. Not to a 60 something.

Profilbild von Guitarbizon
Guitarbizonvor 2 Monaten

You are the first one to say what I was thinking. I kept thinking he was going to fall over. He said he injured his foot, but he also said a lot of other strange stuff. The opening act was from the area and I am huge fan of theirs, so that’s why I was there.

Profilbild von Female Rage The Musical
Female Rage The Musicalvor 2 Monaten

Did Bon Jovi ever square away his issues? I saw a vocal coach on YouTube saying that he did not think it was a physical injury because the voice itself did not sound damaged. He thought it was a mental kind of like when a second base all at once can’t make the throw at first

I remember when Steve Sax had that problem with the Yankees. I heard about Jon and I haven’t heard it was better.

Why, Don? Why? These old rockstars need to hang it up, it’s ruining their legacy. Metallica still sounds great, but I hope they stop before they go to shit.
