"Elmore Leonard meets Nabokov, Michael Crichton meets Vonnegut, Carl Hiaasen meets Joseph Heller. And it has what is probably the best gunfight in literary history."

I am Soo happy that you guys get along so well And if you attend @allisondman's and @foresightinst's event you can meet her in person and other people like @anderssandberg who for example willed the whole brain emulation field into existence @allisondman and @foresightinst are the best nerd snipers in the business, nothing even comes close.

Allison (and Foresight in general) seems to surf the wave between the technological and the human in an inspiring way. Excited to have a listen to this interview with her

do you think the imbalance between utopian and dystopian art is due to dystopian concepts being more fertile ground for conflict and struggle? In other words, people are more likely to engage with a hero's journey that is in progress as opposed to one that is over.

Yes I suspect that’s partly it. A story needs some kind of struggle to derive meaning. But Ian Banks’ Culture Series still manages it. I think the deeper cause lies in the fact it is much harder to dream up a convincing utopian world than a convincing dystopian one.
