Here is what I think the problem is with Lamar Jackson, and there is history to back this up. When things don't start going his way in a game he loses confidence, and the production drops. Look at the sequence from last night: 1. Tez Walker Drop 2. Likely... show more

Look how much worse he was getting after those sequences. It looks like a completely different player. Maybe I am wrong but we have seen it in multiple games the Ravens lose. Lions game, Chiefs, AFC title game etc.

I don't think he has regressed at all as a player. I think he genuinely gets in his own head.

Only player accused of being mentally weak when things aren’t going his way. Literally any other QB shows similar play and the excuses are “game script” and “bad play calls”. Why can’t the fucking narrative just be that he just isn’t playing good right now Matt? Why?

It can be. It was an observation. I don’t notice it in just Lamar. Andrews and Flowers have the same exact issue. Andrews in the playoff game last year was mentally weak. Zay Flowers AFC title was mentally weak. And in the Rams game this year too. It’s not just Lamar it might be something deeper with this team.

Was thinking this too, I thought it was a mental thing not an injury/hurt thing. First fumble obviously is comedy and he’s largely at fault but the first half we should’ve been up 21-9 at the very minimum with LJ’s two looney tunes fumbles. 2nd half performance was a huge drop.

He was absolutely balling in the first half, he was throwing the ball so well. It just dropped off in the second half. I mean it’s pretty evident and honestly I’m more confident in him turning around his mental than if it were his physical. Plenty of players in every sport have overcome it. But idk his mental, it’s just an observation I’ve noticed.

Mfs so happy Lamar had a mid game, so they can make content out of it lmaooo

@justpoot1e This was not me shitting on Lamar it’s an observation of a QB we’ve been watching for 8 years.

I never said u was shittin on him, just that its obvious people are using the bad game as content.

White people at it again lol. Stfu

@320Swoo I’m literally not coming after him. I’ve defended him for YEARS and still am here and you’re going to race. Classic.

I been saying this. Lamar becomes mentally weak at times. Starts throwing his helmet and sum more. Almost checks out. And it takes a lot to get him going again. I’m a huge fan. But I’m not blind. It’s been happening for years

I just said last night “he give up to quick” like just ride it out and play with confidence. He my boy but his attitude on the field gotta match the one when he doing sideline interviews

Like he did in Buffalo in the playoffs last year, and he went down and put them in position to win that game. I think Multiple players on the team struggle with it. Andrews, Flowers

Zay goes as Lamar goes. Once he sees Lamar frustrated he lets off the gas immediately. Plus I think it’s time for a new voice not bc Harbough is horrible but just a new strategy and less picks on the defense side of the ball

He has to still level headed but man we gotta make these plays. The Zay OPI was bs

Yup! Goes both ways I fully agree

I will say that last year's playoff loss broke that script, where he played really well in the 2nd half, but Mark Andrews sold. But there have been plenty of games in his career where he did start pressing after a couple of things went wrong.

And every playoffs loss; same sequence; hes a choking artist

I will say last year against the Bills he didn’t fold. Which honestly gives me confidence he’ll overcome it again.

His physical tools are waning due to age; that's normal; from now on he'll be more like M. Vick in Philadelphia and Cam in New England

It’s because they don’t have a real leader on the team to show resilience. Their coach sits there pouting or staring into deep fucking space, never goes over to reassure his guys… just there, borderline observer.

The Likely fumble is even more infuriating watching from All 22🤨. He's running towards defence instead of Pilon or sideline to protect ball.

He presses after things get tight because he's trying so hard to make something happen

Happened against KC. He wants to win so bad but he plays tight and gets worse

This is perfect it’s happening to him right now, this is exactly what we need. So if we make the playoffs then this can be avoided. Monken needs to get on Lamar about this, the scrambling is back and health seems better. If we can all collectively make plays + come back = 💍

I’ve been noticed this about him. It’s a pattern. Once mistakes happen he never recovers especially in the playoffs.

Why all never body language experts on Josh Allen and Joe Burrow. It will be “they don’t have enough help” all over again. I wish Lamar had good PR like burrow Allen and Herbert man. These guys have similar games (without the boneheaded teammate mistakes) not a bad word spoken.

Shut the hell up nigga damn. Go back to your white hope QBs. Can’t wait til Lamar get away from this stupid ass fan base.

Do you think I’m shitting on him? I think Andrews gets in his head and does the same shit too. Good lord man I’ve defended and still love the guy. I’m observing a pattern that’s factual that you automatically use race as a way to hide it. Insanity.

It’s simple as this. Josh Allen was terrible and throwing ints NOT one person mentioned his throwing mechanics or throwing ability. Yall do this bs only to Lamar. Sam Darnold threw 4 picks and not one person mentioned his throwing ability. All facts.

Please go through my page and look up "Josh Allen" and come back and apologize. Thanks

btw when did I ever mention his throwing ability here? I DEFENDED HIS TALENT LMAOOOO

It's fair. And it's probably why he doesn't win a SB here. I think he's closer to being traded than signing an extension. Wound take a big haul, but sometimes you need to see the big picture. Most of these guys are gone in next 1-2 seasons, huge turnover. Zay not getting paid.

So a 2 time mvp is mentally soft

Lamar is my quarterback!

I agree. He get discouraged by his teammates falling short, loses trust, and tries to do more than he should to make up for it. Unfortunate all around.

Every person in human history

This... In my opinion... Is Lamar's biggest weakness as a QB. He gets in his head and lets his emotions roll. He rarely locks in and delivers when things don't go his way in the beginning. He plays Football like basketball - feel based and when he's "on" he's hooping.

Idk why ravens are coming at you, this 100% seems to be the case. Biased or not its just what it seems like and its the product we’ve gotten since 2019

It probably feels like dejavú seeing his biggest weapons play horrible in big moments. Anyone would try to overcompensate when you feel that your guys don’t have it once again in big games.

Jesus Christ this is is the type of bullshit you hear on First Things First.

As Ravens fans we can’t be so touchy when it comes to Lamar criticism. I don’t think he’s mentally weak at all but there’s validity to him falling out of rhythm. I actually think this is a well made video and keen observation

So basically bad coaching ..

I agree he loses trust I think is a better word

There were even multiple checkdowns wide open that would have had big gains. Can't blame Monken for sure.

this comment section proves there’s a side of this fanbase that thinks he’s immune to criticism

You guys who are being respectful and actually reading it make me appreciate the good side of the fan base

Before watching this I was ready to jump down your throat PAUSE but I don’t think any Ravens fans can watch this and find no truth in it

Oh… they have because they didn’t read the whole thread. I love Lamar and think he’s undisputedly a HOF QB. Just something he will overcome. It wasn’t a diss by any means just me noticing a trend when losing games. Also i should of clarified that all the offense deals with it

I agree. This was reaction and emotion over comprehension. I’m protective over 8 too after all the unfair criticism and disingenuous narratives he’s received over the years. But this is neither of those. This was well made well thought out with film study to back it up

I apperciate you reading and comprehending what I meant before commenting. If you disagreed after seeing what I had to say I would of heard you out. Makes me believe in people when I see stuff like this lol

It really is remarkable how quickly you can tell the Ravens will lose a game based off his reactions, I don’t think it’s a loss of confidence I think it’s frustration that makes him say “we need to score now” and he panics and rushes

Agree
