Thank you for posting this. I was looking for this just last week; it is a genuine work of genius. For those who are unfamiliar with it, Celentano wrote the song to prove that the rhythm and sound of English pop mattered more to audiences than the actual lyrics. He believed that Italians would accept it as a genuine English track even if the words were total nonsense. He was right: it became a massive hit, with many listeners assuming it was a real American import. The blonde dancer in the iconic mirrored-studio video is Raffaella Carrà, a woman considered an absolute national treasure in Italy. She had a monumental career as a singer, dancer, and television personality that spanned decades until her death in 2021. This specific performance, filmed for the show Milleluci, is one of the most famous moments in Italian television history.

STILL more understandable than a Trump speech ...

Love the dance video, need the joy. My poor senior cat had major surgery on his mouth today. We are only halfway done and need to take him back next month. We pick him up soon. Feel sorry for my old guy but hopefully will help with the pain he wasn't showing but feeling.

Poor guy 😢

He's home. Poor dude, he had a lot of work done. He did have a couple of Churus and a little food. He wouldn't drink water out of his nice stainless steel bowl. He needed his Solo cup. Yes, he loves water out of a red Solo cup.

I found the lyrics!

You can clearly hear, Prisencolinensinainciusol, plain as day.

If I may, how did you source the full (and fully excellent) video - this version? Whenever I want to share this particular video with someone, all I can find are alternate or incomplete versions. If you don't mind sharing the source, I'd greatly appreciate it.

@jessica_pomps I don’t remember. I think I just googled it.

Thanks... My past attempts have barfed up a variety of different results. The only place I could find this version of the vid in entirety were posts linked to/from FB... Which no one can access w/o a FB account. I'll check again; it's been awhile. 🙃

@jessica_pomps @TrueFactsStated That's a RAI PLAY video, but I am not sure you can see it out of Italy

@jessica_pomps @TrueFactsStated

@Nafella4717961 @TrueFactsStated Thank you! That's amazing.

Quite apart from weird monotone tune and the crazy concept, what jumps out at me is how hardcore the dancing is. Everyone is totally committed.

If you play it backwards, it makes sense

The dancing queen is Raffaella Carrà

Amazing song, amazing video, though I imagine all the dancers suffered from whiplash after it...

This has consistently held 12% of my brain for at least 20 years, and that explains a lot about me.

I was today years old when I first saw this..! How have I never seen or remotely imagined of this in a million years??!! Where was this filmed and who are we watching?!

Here are the lyrics for those who are interested in what he is saying . . . Yougoda beepad daba dooobee mega. dmfpsdfo'fa mpdf. dasditeepeeooo. Ugga buggua bbeeebop.

It became number 1 in Italy, France, Germany , Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden. .....and yes, there are nonsensical lyrics.

These two used to rehearse down the hall from where my parents did and I sat on the floor as a little one playing and watching them.

I'm starting to think there are a bunch of subliminal messages in this video that are brainwashing us to yearn to see it every Friday. 😉🤣

Adriano Celentano, 87 and still looks great!

Is this not a full version of the song?

All the Epstein files, all the Christmas cheer… and all heavily redacted! 🎄📻 I Saw Trump Release the #EpsteinFiles WATCH:

It just amazes me that he’s lip syncing his American gibberish.

Raffaella Carrà e Adriano Celentano... it was 1974... Sublime!!

Im hearing: "it's cold ass freezing and he doesn't have his shoes on. All right!!"

a million times... and yet I watch again

C'mon everybody:

Celentano is a legend! 😍🇮🇹

I have no idea what this is or what they are saying but the dancing is wonderful.

This is perfection and I would pay to see this live. Even if just this number was the whole show.

Holy shit, what is that from? I totally love that. It reminds me of the movie XANADU without the roller skates.

Useless trivia: the blonde with him is Rafaella Carra' a female pop vocalist in her own right. However, I believe Claudia Mori (who appeared in the 'classroom" video of the song) did the actual female vocal on the song.

Just found my new drunken karaoke hit

Why did he use Trumps last speech as his lyrics? Does he always do this?

ALWAYS a good time for great song, dance and music and especially in darker times #SaturdayVibes Earth, Wind & Fire - Boogie Wonderland (Official Video) via @YouTube

When anyone asks what the 70’s were like, show them this. When they ask How? Why? What? Shake your head and reply no one remembers.
