Is there anything that we have not been lied to about? Yet another Green Scam! Yet another way to try to steal money from and control the conscientious people who want to be good stewards of the environment.

As Thomas Sowell said, certain people "cannot feel fulfilled unless they are telling other people what to do."

I knew many years ago that recycling was a lie.

I caught a paper plate on fire the other day. It smelled like garbage and burned like plastic.

I burns very well and can be used to generate electricity. Get it out of our clothing and food packaging. Recycling glass is a good idea.

humans are filthy creatures

It always has been a scam. Outside of a few metals, next to nothing actually gets recycled

Governments needlessly disrupt society over and over again. This is not the purpose of government.

Incorrect. As someone who works in the plastics industry, I can tell you that almost every pound of plastic scrap generated in house is sold back and reused. I get calls/emails daily from companies wanting to buy our plastic waste. BUT, not all plastic is worth recycling.

Such an obvious scam, surprised it took this long to get brought to light.

As a kid we took empty pop bottles back to the store for money, glass is reusable

It’s a scam that has made a group of investors very very, very rich.

Yes it is.

This is why I do not waste my time.

WTF....someone owes me BIG MONEY for reimbursement of all extra charges on my water bill WASTED to ensure ALL non-water plastic/all other recyclable GARBAGE was cleaned thoroughly. I AM PISSED about this-I couldve had 2 showers a day for the last 20 years AND more friends!!😡🤬🤬

Scam! Just another way for them to charge us.

Nigerism

I remember watching this episode when it first aired. In fact, I think of it every time I hauled our full toter of recyclables out to the curb. NOW we have this new mandate.

Plastic is found in colon cancer. Go back to glass or ?

This is exactly why we need to question what we’re told not blindly accept it. Recycling can help, but the real question is how much plastic actually gets recycled and where the rest ends up. If the system isn’t working, let’s fix it instead of pretending it is. What do you think: real solution or greenwashing?

AND all the recent hubbub about “plastic in our ovaries + everywhere + in everything researchers tested” — may have just been laboratory contamination — because the researchers were wearing nitrile gloves, shedding plastic onto every test sample.

Our home town in Texas stopped doing recycling years ago cause it was not cost effective. People recycle all kinds of stuff, and never clean stuff.
