FROM INBOX | Harare road users no longer obey traffic lights, which is deeply concerning as it could cost lives. The traffic lights were fully operational at the time, yet on Sunday, February 23, 2025, in Kambuzuma, this driver ran a red light. Sadly, most drivers no longer adhere to traffic signals, and we fear the day when this reckless behavior results in tragedy. Even when the light is red, only a few road users stop. A Lime rider goes straight through a red light in London, directly in front of a police officer, and gets stopped on the spot. Funny as the timing is, it's the wider picture: red light running on hire bikes has become an everyday sight, and riders treating the rules as optional is exactly why pedestrians and drivers are fed up. She posted a video of her son and his friends riding bikes and doing wheelies in middle of the road against oncoming traffic to try scaring drivers, and going through a red light. Her son got hit by a car while going through the red light, and now Kawanda is going on a rant about how the driver is the one in the wrong and should be going to jail. Don't be like Kawanda. Raise your children right.

I don’t know why the town turned the flashing yellow lights on here but FSD doesn’t understand at all and stabs the brakes when they flash. It’s awful. The signs next to them say to stop WHEN FLASHING RED. When will FSD read and understand words???

you want to save lives in NYC, start by funding organizations that advocate for people injured or killed by reckless bikers. I’ve been on Amsterdam Ave for five minutes. In that time, I saw three cyclists riding the wrong way and one blowing through a red light. Bike violence is real. And groups like Streetsblog New York City and Transportation Alternatives keep running cover for those who endanger pedestrians and drivers alike. Step one is accountability. Track the injuries and deaths caused by reckless cycling. Right now, that isn’t happening.

The red-light cameras at 88th & Washington are installed and ready to go! Starting this week, these cameras will begin capturing violations for warning notices. Our two mobile speed vehicles will be out across the city doing the same. The warning period gives drivers time to adjust before full enforcement begins. This program is being launched to help reduce crashes and slow down dangerous speeding in high-risk areas. Learn more at
