We’ve seen guys like Judge, Stanton, Wells and others tinker with their stances to get into a better hitting position to attack strikes in the zone. When a guy like Volpe has struggled to hit consistently for his first 3 years, is constantly late on mid-velocity heaters in the middle of the zone and is constantly off-balance when he misses the off-speed stuff; you think to take a look at his pre-pitch habits especially what he’s doing with his hands and stride, and consider eliminating some of the unnecessary movements to simplify things and be ready to attack a pitch in the strike zone sooner. Volpe starts with his hands high above his head with some waggle to probably keep his hands moving and stay in rhythm, then as he strides he drops his hands into the slot while he loads, then wraps his hands behind him as he strides and keeps his weight back on his backside. That front foot needs to get down early as he gets his hands back to be ready to smoke something in the zone. Why hasn’t someone suggested dropping his hands pre-pitch in his stance to get them into the slot early, keep them back to prevent wrapping, and cut out one less moving part to get him better ready to attack pitches in the zone? He can even still have some waggle back there if he prefers to keep his hands moving. In theory if his hands are down and back already, all he needs to do is get his front foot down in time? It’s worth a try lol

This footage was filmed yesterday afternoon at the "Second Chance" shelter in Tampa, Florida. The veteran is named Marcus; he is 36 years old and a former Marine. He suffers from severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). His therapist had suggested he get a dog. Marcus had gone there just to take a look; he wasn't sure he was ready. As he walks down the row of kennels... Most of the dogs are barking. Jumping. It’s an overwhelming situation. Then Marcus walks past a kennel. There’s a Pit Bull inside. A male. About four years old. The dog doesn't bark. He simply stands up. He pushes his snout through the bars. He stares at Marcus. Marcus stops. Marcus pulls the dog close. They stay like that. The staff member filming says, "I've never seen Zeus act like this. He's been here for eight months. He's afraid of men. He doesn't let men touch him." Marcus cries. He says, "He doesn't want to let go. He's clinging to me." Marcus adopted Zeus right then and there. Staff said that when Marcus tried to stand up to handle the paperwork, Zeus panicked. He didn't want to let him go. Marcus had to carry Zeus in his arms to the reception desk. He signed the papers with one hand while Zeus stayed clinging to him. Marcus told us, "I wasn't sure I was ready for a dog. But Zeus decided for me. He chose me. And he doesn't want to let go. Maybe that's exactly what I need." I’m late to this, but I see both sides of the coin here. On one, of course Kyle Fletcher’s gonna be bummed by getting screwed out of his big stadium moment in front of his family while his anxiety levels were at an all-time high. On the other, I wish he included more context as to why that happened and what happened to Adam Cole, as well as the fact that he may never wrestle again and how that was announced on the day of All In, because it makes complete sense as to why that happened when you take everything into account. Also, I can’t believe I’m saying this again but please walk with me on this one: ADAM. COLE. DID. NOT. GET. HURT. ON. THAT. FUCKING. POWERBOMB. YOU. IMBECILES. Tigers Prospect Jackson Jobe averages 97mph ⛽️ Here are the 3 keys to his delivery: 1. The drift and drop As he goes into his leg lift, notice how straight his back leg is. This sets him up to create a lot of energy and force as he goes into the drop (load). Along with keep the back leg straight into leg lift, he also gains ground towards home. This allow him to initiate linear momentum while also setting himself up for the load. 2. Hip to shoulder separation During the stride phase he does a great job of rotating the pelvis into foot plant while staying closed with the upper body. His ability to stay level with the shoulders and stacked puts him in a good position to rotate instead of push. 3. Rotational velocity of the chest Staying closed with the torso into foot plant plays a large role in rotational velocity of the chest. Think of separation like pulling a rubber band back. That pull back is creating tension and a stretch that will accelerate once it’s let go. Jackson does an exceptional job of this, allowing him to rotate the upper body extremely well. While many around the league don’t expect any linebackers to be drafted tonight, if there is one, it certainly could be #TexasAM’s Edgerrin Cooper. Cooper is the most complete LB in the 2024 draft class. He’s shown to be: 1️⃣an elite athlete 2️⃣a consistent and impactful run defender 3️⃣a capable and efficient blitzer, and 4️⃣able to use his size and bend to disrupt in pass protection As a run defender, he finished with an 87.6 PFF grade, highest among any expected draft linebackers in this year’s draft class. That includes 15 TFLs or no gain plays. As you can see (🎥), his downhill force plus balance and control allows him to consistently win in the run game As a pass rusher, he had 7 sacks on the year, 4 of which came from playing on the line of scrimmage. When lined up on the line of scrimmage, he generated a pressure on over 30% of his pass rush snaps. Elite ‼️ And in coverage, he finished with a top-10 coverage grade int eh country last season (per PFF College) among LBs lined up in the box. Cooper is the most complete LB in the 2024 draft class. Let's say this with all the letters: ADRIEN IS AN ABUSE VICTIM. Gabriel abused and neglected him his entire life. Gabriel controlled him, manipulated him. He made Adrien believe that he loved him, only to punish him for his actions, making affection conditional on his behavior. He exposed him and allowed MILLIONS of people to have digital access to his body while he was a minor and without his consent (once again manipulating him by making his own freedom conditional). He emotionally restricted him, basically taking away his autonomy to freely experience his emotions. He deliberately caused him emotional distress whenever he took his anger out on him. He overworked him while he was a child who had just lost his mother (and without any explanation, that's for damn sure). He locked him in a 4x4 room without caring about his emotional well-being. And you know what? I don't care that these were deleted alternate timelines: he beat him multiple times, emotionally blackmailed him, and traumatized him just to force him into being akumatized. Now go ahead and tell me again that Adrien is stupid for this. Adrien is an abuse victim. It's insane that we have to repeat this so many times for people to actually see it. He's a kid who didn't even have time to process the fact that his father, his ABUSER, had died when suddenly everyone was applauding him for having "saved the world." The little terrier had been at the shelter for nearly five weeks, and most people only knew him as the dog who stayed pressed against the back wall. If someone stopped at his kennel for too long, he lowered his head, flattened his ears and waited for them to leave. One morning, an older caretaker named Frank was mopping the hallway when he noticed the kennel door was already open for cleaning. The dog could have walked out whenever he wanted, but he was still sitting on the same gray blanket, watching every movement from the far corner. Frank finished one last pass with the mop and leaned it against the wall. Then he slowly lowered himself onto one knee a few feet outside the kennel instead of stepping inside. "Oh, you don't have to be scared," he said softly. "Come here, buddy." The terrier didn't move. Frank kept one hand low near the floor, turned his body slightly sideways and waited without calling him again. After a while, the dog stood up. He took one careful step toward the doorway, stopped, watched Frank for a few seconds, then took another. Frank stayed exactly where he was.
