This is the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen…

What a breath of fresh air.

Dr Gumby is awesome, and he’s got the first hand experience as he has got EDS himself which I’m sure exposed him to some gaslighting too.

So glad he said this. Somatization has been a cheap, easy garbage diagnosis since when I was in medical school 50 years ago. It is disrespectful and needs to stop. "I don't know what you have" is not malpractice.

gah more like him please all of them like him please

The way my med experience is going, he is like an illusion. It appears there are reasonable doctors out there, but when you think you have reached them…..they disappear. And are left with the ones that question whether they really need to treat you. 🤨

the hero we need and the hero we deserve

My mom had classic, FLORID polymyalgia rheumatica and yet her FamDoc insisted on a referral to psychiatry (with the usual huge wait list). Being a physician myself, I contacted Rheum, got a consult, treatment and the expected dramatic improvement followed. 🤬

Thanks. Just almost had a crush. 😻

I like this guy!!!!

So good!

@ahandvanish What a champ. Love him.

Omg, this is the best thing I’ve ever heard a doc say. I’m a fan 🥰

Can we all become this doctor’s patients??!!

@1goodtern Many GPs fail to be present when a client is talking about mental health issues. My mother's ex GP told her she has a "stressful life." For 4 years, he failed to listen to her. She changed GPs and discovered what she was suffering from. Bipolar disorder.

Somatoform disorders are real and they are not related to anything he said after

Bless you.

@1goodtern 🥰

Many doctors have no easy treatment to offer if they dx "Long COVID." Many don't have TIME per patient for the type of testing to identify specific issues a person is facing. Then they have a VERY limited suite of tools to manage some of those. Many doctors work for shit corps.

Well, sure wish he was my dr

This is true.
