Myeah I normally use esp32 for projects but the datasheet for these LEDs shows a vintage range from 3.5v which is just outside the 3v3 from the esp. might still work maybe. Haven't tried yet.

How do I get into hardware

Get yourself an esp32 dev board. So some tutorials. Get your blinking lights. Then get into easy Eda and order some stuff from jlcpcb. Maybe I could make a tutorial about it sometime.

Honestly I will do that. Thanks. It's a little embarrassing that im so software minded and not very strong with hardware. But, I will fix that.

It's been a very smooth progression from coding to hardware design for me. I think it's a natural thing for coders.

Yeah they are bright. Actually I'm running them at half brightness here so I can run one off my usb. They are from the WS2812B family.

I got into pcb design a while ago by following tutorials. Then started building PCBs for startup ideas. Im using EasyEda for PCB design and then just order assembled PCBs from JLCPCB
