Hunter didn't choose some liberal podcaster to do a softball interview to tell his story, so he deserves to be listened to with an open mind, no matter your political affiliation. Hunter gets emotional and angry a few times during the interview, but overall, you see a person taking responsibility for his mistakes without blaming the entire world. Hunter Biden is a hero that should get a mic on the national stage, not because he's the son of President Joe Biden but because, after being sober for 6 years, he is using his personal story to bring awareness to addiction and recovery.

Because no one would have been better suited to answer my questions on that topic than my guest on this episode. His name is David Bahnsen, and aside from managing over $7 billion in assets, David has forgotten more about the global economy than most economists will ever remember. He has also written a terrific book called Full-Time Work and the Meaning of Life. It’s really good, and I wanted to talk to him about why he wrote it, and why he believes that retirement is rarely a recipe for happiness. I was also curious to learn about how a kid who never went to college wound up managing so much money, and how his philosophy and faith became so entwined in the cold calculus of high finance. We talked for about 17 minutes.” “You know, he talked a lot about the situation with Iran, talked a little bit about Ukraine and what’s going on in Europe.” “I told him I had been to the Teddy Roosevelt library. We talked a little bit about the history of the vice presidency and how Roosevelt had transformed that and the modern presidency. A little history of the Senate.” “You know, it was a wide ranging conversation. I talk to him often. I hadn’t talked to him since he’d been in. I’d gotten a few text messages from him, but I hadn’t spoken to him. So it was good to hear his voice.” “Voice sounded strong and sounded like he was keeping up with the news to me.” HUNT: “Did you ask him how he was feeling?” JENNINGS: “Yeah, he said, you know, he said he was feeling okay. Michael Iskander, the actor who portrays King David in the hit Prime Video series “House of David,” announced earlier this year that he had converted to Catholicism. Born and raised as a Coptic Orthodox, he does not see his conversion as a rejection of his roots; instead, it is “answering a calling from God.” The 24-year-old actor, who was born in Egypt but came to the United States as a child, sat down with CNA for an exclusive interview in October and spoke candidly about his recent conversion and faith. Iskander’s journey toward Catholicism started several years ago when he happened to stumble into St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan. Although tourists filled the historic cathedral, Iskander went in, sat down in a pew, put his head down, and felt “as if nothing existed.” “I looked at the altar knowing that’s where the Eucharist lies and I’m like, ‘I want the Eucharist.’ And I remember feeling this moment of extreme holiness,” he recalled. “I was like, ‘This is where the Eucharist is.’ And I put my head down and I started weeping for an hour straight — not praying, nothing, just weeping. And it felt like nobody else was there except for me and God.” He credited that day with planting the seed of his interest in Catholicism. From then on, he began attending Mass. As he learned more about King David in preparation for the show, that interest, which became a calling, kept growing. After he finished filming Season 2 of “House of David,” Iskander got in contact with a priest in his area to go over questions he had about Catholicism. After a nearly two-hour conversation, he told the priest he wanted to convert. Because the Catholic Church recognizes sacraments from the Coptic Orthodox church as valid, Iskander took part in a profession of faith during a Mass for him held on Aug. 21. One part of the Mass in particular stood out to Iskander: when the priest read the responsorial psalm, which was Psalm 89 and included the verses that talk about the anointing of David. Now everyone should pay close attention to this interview because, in my opinion, it proves two things. First, it proves that he is behind many of the agendas pushed against artists he isn't cool with, especially considering how many of the trolls within his fan base seem to move in the same direction whenever a narrative needs to be pushed. Second, whenever he has a new song or album coming out, he appears to lean into giveaway and controversy driven clout. It feels like he's worried about a project underperforming and the potential backlash from rival fan bases. I once said that Carter Efe was recruited into this whole narrative. Think about it: why didn't he reach out to Carter until the agenda about Wiz not helping him started gaining momentum? As soon as that narrative picked up steam, he reached out, joined Carter's livestream, and shortly after, Carter began openly disrespecting Wiz for no apparent reason. At this point, my conclusion is that more and more people including some of his own fans are beginning to see him for who he really is. The very monsters he helped create are gradually starting to clock the pattern.
