Wow. This is pretty obvious. And most embarrassing for FIFA. Did they turn the chip off after Croatia ?

Sensors couldn't detect THAT, but could detect THIS? FIFA is a joke

I've seen so many posts like "omg, I can't believe FIFA allowed this" and none of them can point out the exact frame when it happens AND highlight where the cable is.

This is just a normal trajectory for a ball with spin on it? I swear so many of you have never watched football in a stadium before

You really don’t need to be an expert to see something is up with the trajectory, the way it went down it was unnatural fall/angle.

The official match ball for the 2026 FIFA World Cup (the adidas Trionda) has a sensor embedded in it. Nothing recorded a change in momentum which would have occurred had the ball hit something-

FIFA’s fault for putting the shite things there in the first place.

Interestingly and missed by the whinging masses; not one single player or support staff stopped moving or gestured live that the ball had made contact with the cable. Conversely, the players all appeal for fouls, offsides, throw ins, corners, goal kicks, etc with no exceptions.

Watch how the player anticipates its flight + descent before ball gets near the overhead cable, if it hit it, the effect must have been next to zero or the player would never have anticipated an altogether different landing spot, he didn't and he met it perfectly.

100% hit it. Completely changed the trajectory.

It looks obvious, but the strange part is that the Norwegian player’s reaction, tempo & direction doesn’t change at all. You would think he’d put his arms up or something? Is it Sorloth?

who cares? why does it matter? it's not out of play. maybe they need to fix the spidercam cables but this does not alter the legitimacy of the play and goal. do we ban the rain, wind, sun and heat next? close the roof and play in a padded cell? if this happened in norway's favour, england wouldn't make a fuss. we're not like that

TSN did a great segment on it. (Might be geoblocked for you, but you can probably see it on YouTube).

So your position is Anderson from England anticipated the cable and moved towards the likely deflection from the cable?

You can even see the England player adjust his angle from getting ready to head the ball to catch it with his foot at the exact time the trajectory of the ball changes. Yet FIFA tells us not to trust our lying eyes

The broadcast later quoted rules saying that the interference must be noted and whistled on the field. And even if VAR could review it, the lack of sensor snick makes it short of the "clear and obvious error" requirement for VAR to overrule or summon the referee.

Someone else brought up the ball sensors that impacted Croatia. Why weren’t they a factor here. 🤔

Good to have this, but I don't think it's reliable because with all of the white spots causing the ball to blend in, it's hard to tell enough.

So video from the spider camera should show the hit on the wire. Let’s see that.

Trying to use this as evidence, it’s spot the ball once it’s in the visual noise of the crowd nothing is clear and obvious

It appeared Kane opted to grab the leg that was not grazed by the Norwegian player. Didn't help his case.

I'm glad everyone is posting such clear visuals of this. Can you just clarify where the ball is here? Hint, it's not the thing in the centre as that is present for the entire ball travel.

Seems like the defender definitely changes pursuit trajectory right around where you would imagine the cable was
