Here's another ribbon map of a river; this time designed specifically for a receipt printer. Perhaps the most unnecessary thing I've ever made.

@simongerman600 A app or map app layer that flattens the river (or hiking trail, road) into a scrollable ’strip’ in lieu of panning on the screen to get from A to B. 🫡

@simongerman600 I looked into that sort of thing quite a bit before I made the first map, but couldn't find anything that worked exactly how I wanted, and I wasn't able to figure out how to do it on my own either. But maybe one day!

Ohhh! You can add broken fold lines if you want the geometry to match so the receipt can be folded if they meander

No... I'd go for this. Getting maps printed in austere environments is a huge need for me. Thermal is no good but I love this in theory.

@sarahbadr how easy was it to get a hold of a printer like this, and the paper for it?

@sarahbadr Pretty easy! I got it used off eBay and it came with paper. This is an Epson TM-T88VI that I got a good deal on, but there are older models of the same printer that are practically the same and even cheaper.
