Here’s Dave Dombrowski talking in Spring Training about Dylan Moore making the Opening Day Roster over Bryan De La Cruz.

Dylan Moore, Otto kemp, Felix reyes, Gabriel riccones, garret stubbs all got called up before bryan de la cruz. Literally all of them are negative impact, we even had 3 catchers at one point and two of them can't hit for shit

I think at the time it kinda made sense with the positional versatility Moore had, and the OF being Crawford/Marsh/Garcia pretty much full time.

You forgot Otto Kemp who was platooning with Marsh!

@Philly_Isaac He didn’t earn it and there was always the risk of De La Cruz opting out of his minor league deal.

Dave, What about this guy???

I know everyone is excited about De La Cruz but he's never been good over a full season. He's hot right now and that's good. Hopefully he doesn't revert to what he's been.

Totally forgot about him ngl

I forgot he was even on this team 😂😂

He was spot on with that.

There were drastic differences in the contracts they had. Moore exercised his early and forced the Phillies into a position to add him to the 40 man in 48 hours or he hits free agency. BDLC’s contract allowed them to be patient.
