Heres one example. Going from pose A to pose B works alright, but adding in a pose C can really make an animation shine

I mean in this in the nicest way possible. Isn't this literally animation 101 like the first thing they teach you is that an animation is made of frames kind of shit? Why is he having to do a presentation on "a animation looks better when it has more frames of animation"?

its not more frames though, both animations are 45 frames long. What he added was a breakdown pose, and if you can master those, youre beyond a senior level animator

Right the first one has 2 key frames it slides between before snapping to the idle pose and the other has 3 key frames now imagine if there were 4 key frames or maybe even 9 so you had 4 frames to go from one to the other crazy stuff

Inside of 45 frames? That would get too busy. You should try and do it any way though, and show me

This is so true, when I was doing corrections on the "Ghost in the Shell" homage in Pantheon, I quickly noticed that the original animator added a C pose between the poses where the hand was whole and where it split. This made such a huge difference and added a nice little pop.
