Here’s some BTS from #NancyDrew 408… the script asked for a huge wave to crash into Ace and Thom once the pickle jar was dropped into the ocean. In order to safely achieve this, our incredible SFX team @pacwestspfx mounted the fishing boat on a hydraulic gimbal… 1/

… so we could animate the boat. This gave us three axis control so we can rotate, tilt and roll the boat as needed to create the proper physicality. They then added a huge water cannon shooting 2000lbs of water at a high PSI to create the wave. 2/

In unison, we were able to create a practical wave that could crash on top of the stunt actors while the boat was seemingly rocking in the ocean. The last step was adding the ocean water by our incredible team @cosa_vfx. Really happy creatively and safety-wise with this stunt.

Imagine just minding your business on a boat and suddenly a literal beam of lava drops from the sky. The absolute panic when the ocean just completely evaporates is unhinged.📉💀

Once into Wembley it’s time for some nutrient, lights and growth to re commence. You could play on this tomorrow, but it’s a busy season ahead. So as much strength we can build on and re-trigger, the better performance and recovery for each event. Huge team effort as always.

Now, let’s go to the last destination. ELEYELE LAKE. We drove through the link gate between UI and Ibadan Poly to link Eleyele Road and in to time, we got to the lake manned by Royal Entertainment Cruise where one can do Boal Pedaling, canoe paddling or boat cruise. We went for boat pedaling. Just myself and my wife in a boat pedaling ourselves on the lake. We pedaled into the deep and also came back ourselves. It was fun fun fun. The owner of spot seeing our show of excellence on the water asked us to join his team on a boat cruise to Eleyele Dam. A wonderful journey for me except for one woman who was scared throughout beside me. I nearly changed it for her only to realize she’s still my wife. We got back to shore, had little refreshments and bid Ibadan farewell. Rating - 7/10
