Easy, we use the oil and gas to keep the lights on and bills low while we work on practical solutions such as large scale battery storage that isn’t eye wateringly expensive and actually stores a reasonable amount of power. We could perhaps even export the excess to other countries. There’s also the coal, can’t we extract that and export it to a country that doesn’t mind burning it for power? Countries that care about their energy policy.
