Their capitol cities were Damascus and Baghdad. Arab’s rejected the UN charter, and declared war on Israel. And again Egypt and Syria tried to surprise attack them later. In all of history, Judea/Israel has been controlled by Jews for about 2200-2500 years, Muslim’s about 600-800 years, and Christians 100-150 years. It’s also important to note Egypt has had a column open to them, and blockades it where they can’t enter Egypt as well, and monitor goods. Palestine is a newer concept in historical context. I think it was announced in 1988 by a council.
