Here's why I never commission "artists" who message me here.

Small infos : - There could be genuine artists in DMs but with the wave of fake artists, better do a deep research of the artist's previous works - The "commissioner" is probably a friend of the scammer, or they are requests described as commissions

I get so many DMs from these kinds of people. Usually they start with just "hi" to bait you into talking with them. The person Sage called out claims to be a full-time freelance artist but they've only uploaded like 7 drawings in 7 months. Some dont have any drawings, lmao.

All these people dm me and I feel bad for anyone who’s an actual artist but 99% of the time it’s a scammer who wants a few hundred dollars

What's really sad is I don't think behavior or accounts like this will ever go away, there's so many of them that they may as well be coming out of a factory. Recognizing the "art" they make and that it's traced is key, and most artists won't come into your dms asking for comms
