Somehow this 1979 clip from Monty Python’s Life of Brian perfectly reflects the insanity of gender ideology in 2024, when pointing out biological reality is viewed as “oppression.” Yes, we are actually living in a Monty Python sketch.

In Monty Python’s Life of Brian (1979), after the crowd chants “Yes, we’re all individuals,” the reply “I’m not!” was an ad-lib from an extra. The line was kept in the film and the extra was bumped up in pay for having a speaking role.

Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl (1982) had a crowd that was loud, wired, and weed-assisted. Not passive, but part of the act. They knew every sketch, shouting punchlines before the actors could. Americans didn’t just “get” Python, they loved it. A comedy rock concert

Happy Birthday, Terry Jones (1942-2020) "He’s not the Messiah, he’s a very naughty boy” This line, delivered flawlessly, captures the entire ethos of Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979), and the part that was missed when it was banned in multiple countries “Now, piss off!”

Having run out of cash to film the battle scene they’d planned to end the movie with, the Pythons decided on a cheap, fourth-wall-breaking joke that suited their surreal style of comedy & which was also bloody funny. MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL (1975)

Monty Python’s Life of Brian (1979) was banned in Norway for blasphemy for a year — then re-released with an "18" rating. Sweden called it as “The film so funny it was banned in Norway.” Ireland banned it until 1987, parts of England until 2008–2009. One ban lifted after cast member Sue Jones-Davies became mayor.

One of the most special moments of our @Inspiration4 mission was having 3 Doors Down perform at our splashdown party. It was such a beautiful gift for me and my crew. I’m heartbroken by the news. Fuck cancer! 💔

When "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (1975) was screened at the Cannes Film Festival, the audience laughed at the opening credits. However, the projector stopped and the audience just roared with laughter, thinking it was all part of this movie. It turned out there was a bomb scare, and firemen came in, stopped the screening and made everyone in the cinema go outside. John Cleese talking about the hilarious incident: "No one had ever mentioned to me about these hilarious credits that Michael Palin had written so I sat down expecting to see a perfectly normal set of credits at the front of the movie and there was all this wonderful Nordic stuff about moose. We first screened this at the Cannes Film Festival. These subtitles got huge laughs and right at the end of [the sequence] the film stopped and everyone laughed and applauded. Then these men in French fireman uniforms with gold helmets came racing in and stopped the film and we had to go outside. It was a bomb scare. And everybody thought it was part of the film. It was perfectly timed because it was just after the credits so it didn’t interrupt anything. That was a good start." (From "Special Edition DVD" audio commentary of the movie, transcript taken from Artofthetitle(dot)com) P.S: On this day, 51 years ago, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (1975) premiered in Los Angeles, USA.
