Hermes Agent on Omarchy, in one minute. set Hermes as your default agent from the Omarchy menu, and every way you open an agent on the machine is the same Hermes: the terminal, the desktop app, the menu entry. ask it something about Omarchy itself and it knows where... show more

the agent is no longer...'an app you open' and now becomes the default layer over the whole machine... terminal, desktop, files, system context, same brain. Omarchy + Hermes is such a fantastic duo!

it is!

Are there any security considerations for using Hermes and omarchy on a local machine? Feels scary to put something as powerful as Hermes on a very new distro like omarchy. That being said; this is probably the best reason I have to use omarchy 🤣

Omarchy launches Hermes with approvals OFF. also Hermes runs as your user. whatever the agent can do, you can do without sudo. ufw default deny incoming, allow outgoing (`install/config/firewall.sh`), LUKS full-disk encryption at install, single user. so the exposure is outbound only, driven by what the agent decides to run.

Omarchy is the future! pair that with Hermes and you actually travel 59 years ahead in time

I installed latest omarchy on a new machine. Ran hermes. I didn't use the default options and said => please use grok. It tried to use open code. I'll give it another spin but what i like about omarchy is it just chooses the best stuff and you can change it later. The hermes setup seems a bit much. Most people use codex, claude, grok, open code I'd say. Can't be that many permutations to customise.

This is ah

You're using Hermes + grok-4.6 for a simple question. Much better and less token usage to set Grok as your default agent and ask it directly. Same result and faster.

@dhh 👀

amazing

Hello, I'm using Try Omarchy and I don't have access to Hermes. What should I do?

Man if I didn't have my Linux rig so wired into my house infrastructure I'd be onboarding this so fast!

Can you set specific profile to be the default Omarchy agent?

why did you choose hermes? what do you love most about it?

one shared agent setup avoids maintaining separate configurations

same install across CLI and desktop is the killer detail

I just installed Omarchy for the first time and went straight into Hermes, it's awesome! Absolutely brilliant

the theme following Hermes everywhere is the detail that sells it

default agent everywhere on the machine is the dream. one Hermes across terminal + desktop + menu, no more which-agent-am-I-talking-to roulette.
