True, however… the real problem is that the Liberals picked a fight with our giant neighbour just to win an election. Now all Canadians are paying the price, and will continue to suffer until they decide to choose a new government.

He is right but he is also too late. American people chose their leader to look out for Americas interests. That included using tariffs as a tool for that purpose. Canadians elected their leader that chose a trade war as the response to those tariffs. Retaliatory tariffs, boycotts, threats to shut off power to civilians in winter time, 65 million dollar foreign influence ad campaign inside the US, and PM traveling around the world to recruit countries to gang up on the US. The moment that happened the dynamic changed. Canada cant simply say well we will diversify a little bit and then still go back to exporting whatever we cant get someone else to buy. Thats not how a trade war works. Trump and the US didnt just stand by and add matching tariffs. They began the process of replacing 14% of the US imports that come from Canada. Much of it domestically which is even better for the US. CUSMA will not likely be renewed and tariffs will be on all products. Little incentive for the US to renew. Recruited many companies to relocate from Canada. Removed sanctions on Belarus potash. (20% of worlds supply) Venezuela oil under US control and has record US production. Both work with 132 US refineries. (Canada has 19) Oil rich Middle East countries have partnered with the US for peace and trade. Trump removed barriers to nuclear power and is making it part of national security so it will be backed by homeland defense resources. Already approved 80 billion in permits. Century Aluminum is building smelter in OK US bought 40% stake in Glencore copper and cobalt projects. Critical mineral deals around the globe and strategic reserves. US steel now produced more than Japan moving them into 3rd. Hyundai is building steel plant in Louisiana. US forests are ripe after decades of under harvest. Systematically replacing all of Canadas exports at a record rate. Its already well under way. Canada is going to have to replace 78% of exports that drive or flow over land with trans ocean trade. From ports you dont have on ships you dont have. Not even sure if Carney can get a phone call right now let alone stop this trade war.

He’s a very smart man, too bad he wasn’t elected back in 2015 Canada would have prospered…. that wasn’t the plan by the owners.

This was our last great PM and I didn’t vote for him I voted liberal and also after him I voted liberal but my eyes are open now and I will never vote liberal again, after these past 11 years Canada just got worse every year and we are all in a worse position than the last time the conservatives ran the show, so maybe we should all realize the real problem, it’s not Trump and what the he is doing for his country it’s our own government ran by these liberals thinking they are doing a great job when they really aren’t

Yes at last some common sense. The liberal media and the ruling class can push the stupid narrative of blaming Trump, but the truth is irresponsible and unresponsive governance are the root of our current situation

That’s why we need to shift to PPC and quickly. Max has known this for years. He has the knowledge and understanding needed to tackle our issues, stand up with integrity and work with a strategic plan that puts Canada first. 🇨🇦

I wonder if flying to China to kiss Chairman Xi's ring counts as "balanced"? Asking for a friend.

I could handle another Harper govt. It would be an improvement to what we had/have at present in Canada.

I love how all of these current and former Canadian politicians act like every other western nation did not reach a deal with Trump. That its some improbablility that they could do what every other western nation has already done.

I miss him. This is what I have been telling my friends with TDS. The US will always be our biggest trading partner but we should also expand trade elsewhere.

This is all getting out of hand. It’s so simple yet the gov is making it so difficult. We have 2 choices..being #1 or being a fallen country that has hit rock bottom. By working together with US makes us the #1 superpower. We r North America. We must unite if we want prosperity!

Thank you Mr Harper, totally agree what we’re experiencing in Canada as we keep hearing “it’s one man’s fault we’re in the current situation.” That statement isn’t factual. We have to understand Canada has been free riding for years, in certain criteria’s .

Our Canadian politicians are pushing for us to stick with the devil that they know ( British Monarchy) the Deep state, rather than move towards Sovereign National States. If you vote liberal and they win again you can say goodbye to life as you know it here in Canada.
