One of the actors from I Swear, a film about the life of Tourette’s sufferer John Davidson, has come out in support of him following the BAFTAs controversy. The film is based on Davidson’s life, and he also appears in it. At the ceremony, Davidson was heard shouting several profanities, including a derogatory term aimed at Black people, as a result of his condition. His co-star stressed that Tourette’s is a neurological disorder people have no control over and that John had every right to attend the BAFTAs.

UPDATE: And then this happened. In an individual tackling drill, redshirt junior defensive back Zach Pekarek shocked his teammates by going airborne. Pekarek made some big plays for the Bears last year including a blocked punt. Today he had some fun when he carried the ball in this drill. It was one of the highlights of the day as the Bears finish their second week of spring football. Pekarek is from Burlington in eastern Colorado and played high school football at Ponderosa in Parker. He transfered to UNC over two years ago from Nebraska-Kearney. #STBC #BearWitness

Eagles/Raiders 2005: The Akers Limp Kick Game The Eagles came into this one beat up, especially at QB and Kicker. Donovan McNabb was battling a groin injury and David Akers had a bad hamstring which he re-aggravated on the opening kickoff. That injury hung over the entire game. Thankfully, Philly had Brian Westbrook (Brian Westbrook) who absolutely carried the offense with 208 total yards and 2 TDs, plus Terrell Owens, who posted 9 catches for 80 yards and a TD despite being shadowed by Hall of Famer Charles Woodson all afternoon. The Raiders tied it 20–20 late, but McNabb gutted through the pain to engineer a final drive to set up the easiest kick possible for the hobbling Akers. And in one of the gutsiest moments of his career, Akers drilled the game winner before collapsing in pain, sealing a 23–20 Eagles win.

Woman Armed with Pellet Gun Shot by LAPD During Robbery Call Los Angeles, CA - On March 7, 2026, around 11:15 p.m., officers assigned to Southeast Patrol Division responded to a radio call of a Robbery in Progress at a convenience store located at 15300 South Figueroa Street. Upon arrival, the officers observed the suspect, later identified as 53-year-old Cynthia Anne Ivie Akers, standing behind the convenience store’s front counter. The officers issued multiple verbal commands to gain Akers’ compliance; however, those commands were disregarded. Akers then suddenly moved toward the counter, removed a handgun from a zippered bag, and pointed it in the direction of the officers, resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS). Akers was struck by gunfire and subsequently taken into custody. The officers immediately rendered medical aid and requested the response of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). LAFD personnel responded to the scene and pronounced Akers deceased. The investigation later determined that the weapon in Akers’ possession was a pellet gun. The item was recovered at the scene and booked as evidence.
