We don't have evidence that the United States was actually on the verge of a U.S.-China war. According to the reporting, an AI-generated misidentification made it into an intelligence product, circulated through military channels, the good news is, the humans identified the error.

There is nothing about this particular failure that is inherently a Republican or Democratic phenomenon. A similar intelligence failure could occur under a Democratic president. In fact, if either Chris Mowery or Adam Mockler had been in charge, the error would probably not have been caught

@chrisdmowrey "He's going down for this…"? I've heard that since 2015. Republicans like leaders lying, even to them. Democratic leaders needed to take actions as decisive and extreme as Republicans do. Democrats did not, and will not.
