There are 362 NCAA Division I head men’s basketball coaching positions in the country. I don’t take for granted how fortunate I am to be offered the opportunity to lead one of these programs, specifically, Houston Christian University (HCU). First, I want to thank the Lord for this opportunity. I want to thank HCU President Dr. Sloan, Director of Athletics Steve Moniaci, Deputy Athletic Director Stan Williamson, and James and Ann Bryant. All five of you have played a vital role in allowing my family the opportunity to move to Houston to join your prestigious institution. Thanks for your belief in me and our vision to reimagine and reinvigorate the men’s basketball program. I would like to thank and honor Coach Ron Cottrell and his coaching staffs who spent the last 33 years leading the HCU basketball program. This includes long-time assistants Steven Key and Jud Kinne as well as many other assistants. Ron and his staff dominated the NAIA and Red River Conference days of the 90’s and early 2000’s. They fearlessly led the program back to the NCAA Division I level, through the probationary period, to the Great West Conference, and to the Southland Conference. It is a privilege to follow Coach Cottrell and build on his body of work. I am grateful for the previous colleges and universities who afforded me the opportunity to lead their programs. Rock Valley College, Graceland University, and most recently and for the last six years, Emporia State University. I will be posting an in-depth message thanking some specific people who changed my life from Emporia State in the coming days. In the meantime, I want to express my gratitude for your support and love during our ESU tenure. The Emporia community is incredible. Alexys and I not only raised our four children in the community but we also watched your children grow, too. It was a special time in our family’s life. Thanks to my wife and children, my parents, my assistants, and our former student-athletes. College athletics is all about people and creating value for each other. Thanks for partnering with me each day as we pressed forward to make degree progress, impact our community, and win games and championships. The work continues with great excitement for the future at Houston Christian University. As George Strait famously sings, “Take me to Texas.” Proverbs 19:21

Fagnani: Do you still attend Sociology? Zeudi: Yes, I still attend—I’m still enrolled. F: Because when people ask you how long you have left until graduation, or when you’ll graduate, you don’t take it very well. In a livestream you said: “I’ll do university whenever the fuck I want. You’re a pain in the ass and make me anxious. I’ll graduate when I feel like it. Right now I’m doing something else. I attend university for personal culture, not to say: I have a degree, I have a piece of paper. I don’t give a damn. You’re a pain in the ass, my God.” You took it very well, I see? Zeudi: I’ll explain why. I think people shouldn’t put too much pressure on young people who are enrolled in university. Maybe I’ll also send a message to parents. But it’s true, because there are people who feel the pressure of university and can’t manage to pass their exams. F: So let’s make an appeal: study calmly, don’t rush. Take 15 years—it’s the same. Z: Yes, it’s the same, 15 years—it’s the same. F: Imagine I wanted to ask when you’ll graduate, I’m scared. Z: I don’t know when I’ll graduate, honestly. F: I’m joking, it was a joke. Z: Still, the fact is that everyone has their own timing. I think that’s the message that should come across. F: Let’s say that if a degree program is meant to take four years, there’s a reason. Z: Of course, that’s true. But I didn’t choose Sociology. F: Was it something forced on you? Z: Yes, because I liked the idea of continuing to study.

Long Post ! The internet is celebrating #TMC nomination of Menaka Guruswamy to the #RajyaSabha, with many highlighting that she comes from the LGBTQ+ community. Representation matters - there is no doubt about that. But for many of us, including myself , what truly stands out is something even bigger: her extraordinary merit and body of work. Before I even knew about her personal identity, (which is none of my business) I knew her as one of the sharpest legal minds in the country. A Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India, she is known for her clarity of argument, intellectual rigour, and fierce commitment to constitutional values. She can standup in a courtroom and never use her gender or sexuality to make an argument. She can shut down people without saying “excuse me, I am a woman and ladies first” Look at the journey - Alumna of National Law School of India University, University of Oxford, and Harvard Law School. A Rhodes Scholarship recipient. B. R. Ambedkar Research Scholar and Lecturer at Columbia University. She has taught at Yale University, the University of Toronto, and New York University. In 2019, she and Arundhati Katju were named among Time’s 100 most influential people in the world. That is not just representation. That is excellence. Yes, she has been an important voice in advancing LGBTQ+ rights. But what makes her remarkable is that she argues with logic, scholarship, and constitutional depth…not identity. Her work speaks first. And perhaps that’s the real message here: people from the LGBTQ+ community are not seeking validation through labels. They are living with dignity, building careers, shaping institutions, and through their work making it easier for society to shed prejudice. So when Menaka Guruswamy enters the Rajya Sabha, it shouldn’t be reduced to a single aspect of who she is. She will walk in there with SEVERAL DEGREES THAT SHE WILL NEVER OR NEVER HAVE TO HIDE. That is the qualification that matters. And that is worth celebrating.

I’m standing here in what used to be our home, and the heartbreak is truly indescribable.💔🥺 When I first saw the news, I was in complete shock—I couldn’t process it. But now, standing here and seeing it with my own eyes, it feels like my heart has shattered into a million pieces.😢💔 This house wasn’t just a place to live— It was where we dreamed, laughed, and created the most beautiful memories as a family. It was where Phoenix’s little hands made art that I’ll cherish forever, where love and life filled every corner. To see it reduced to ashes… it’s devastating beyond words.💔 What breaks my heart even more is knowing that this isn’t just my story. So many people have lost everything. It’s not just walls and roofs—it’s the memories that made those houses homes. It’s the photos, the keepsakes, the irreplaceable pieces of our lives.😭 And yet, in this pain, I know I’m incredibly lucky. My loved ones, my babies, and my pets are safe.🥹 That’s the most important thing, and I’m holding onto that gratitude with everything I have. And beyond grateful to all the the fire fighters, first responders and volunteers risking their lives to fight these fires.🥺🙏 To everyone who has sent love, prayers, and kindness—you’ve reminded me that even in the ashes, there is still beauty in this world.🥹 Thank you from the deepest part of my heart. ❤️ And to everyone going through this pain, please know you’re not alone. We’re in this together. We will rebuild, we will heal, and we will rise stronger than before. Let this be a reminder to hold your loved ones close. Cherish the moments. Life can change in an instant, and it’s the love we share that truly matters. I’m sending all my love to everyone who is hurting right now.🥺🙏

I’ve hemmed and hawed over whether to make this post, and I’m still not convinced it’s the right thing, but I’ve had quite a few folks reach out to see where I’ve been. So…….I have a mass on my stomach. It is malignant. Much of my stomach was removed as a result of illness 4 years ago, so surgery to remove the mass is not an option. I’ve opted out of chemo and radiation treatments, as well. I’m not giving up, though. I’m going to take a holistic approach to the fight by strengthening my body and making dietary changes. The prognosis is not good, but I intend to give it my best shot. I won’t be posting about this part of my journey. I did post a lot about my illness several years ago, but that was after I recovered, my recovery was nothing short of a miracle, and I wrote about it to give hope and encouragement to others facing similar situations. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be a very hopeful or encouraging end this time. I am so thankful for everyone I’ve met, and not met, here. You all have shared some wonderful and beautiful parts of my life, as well as supported and encouraged me through some horrific moments. I am blessed to call you my friends, my family. I love you all, and I will think of you often.❤️ Keep fighting the good fights, and I will, too! Keep looking for good. It’s out there. And, keep GOD in your heart. He knows what he’s doing. Please give this song a listen. It is my anthem. Thy Will Be Done🎶
