and you are supposedly gay if you didn't like a 30 something year old woman touching on you.

Black men talk about it and get ignored or ridiculed.

You not wrong

It sucks because it flys under the radar and people don’t realize a lot of predators had something like this happen but never addressed it and just thought it was cool. Maybe even brag about it. Vicious cycle in the community.

Yeah

Age-appropriate sex ed is so extremely important bc it teaches kids boundaries and allows them to understand when they’ve been violated. It gives them the words to tell an adult that they trust. So many kids don’t even understand that they’ve been abused until much later.

I am eager to burn this threadbare masculinity, this perpetual black suit I have outgrown —Essex Hemphill, “Heavy Breathing,” (1992)

Lightbulb didn’t go off for me until I was having a discussion with my wife about losing our virginity. She was like, “that sounds like molestation”. I stopped mid sentence like, “fuck., I guess I WAS molested”. Real watershed moment.

A child can’t legally consent, but thinking they can makes it not seem wrong from their perspective. The adult is the ones who knows better.
