🚨 Cape Town’s pro-poor 2025/26 budget is under attack by SA’s wealthiest property owners. SAPOA, who represent the biggest and wealthiest property owners in the country, is trying to force the City to charge billionaire property funds the same as individual home owners and poorer families. That makes no sense. It is putting profits before the people of Cape Town! ❌ To extend better services to more people, and to keep Cape Town as SA’s most functional city, we need to step up investment in infrastructure. To fund this, we cannot agree that the wealthiest property owners should be charged the same as ordinary family households. We’ll defend our budget and all of the investments it makes into better services and infrastructure.

Today we honour two giants of Cape Town culture, David Kramer and Taliep Petersen, with the Freedom of the City. 👏🇿🇦 We celebrate not only their individual achievements, but also their amazing collaborations on District Six: The Musical, Kat & the Kings, and how they gifted our city our joyful anthem, “Welcome to Cape Town”. Thanks to David and Taliep, future generations will know our history, dance with the ghoema, and rise with the hope of a city that is culturally richer, and more whole, because of these two icons.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: When you show pictures of how clean Cape Town CBD is, they will then ask you about the townships. Like for like Cape Town CBD is the cleanest in South Africa by far. Let’s go to the townships, Cape Town townships have working swimming pools, I saw a play area which also had like a gym thing. Not sure we’re exactly but I saw an entire street in Cape Town township lined with palm trees. Then go to other townships in other provinces, no palm trees, no working swimming pool,and take a place like inanda in kzn, no running water for nearly a year. It’s also chaotic, did not see any swimming pools, they just broadened the lanes on the road. 90% of street lights not working, a resident said it’s like this for years. Cape Town in this years budget have a massive budget for fixing things that need to be fixed. Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis is a protege of Helen Zille and she is the only person in the country that can fix jhb. Frame 1: Cape Town CBD Frame 2: the cleaner part of jhb CBD which actually looks disgusting Frame 3: Cape Town townships. Just a reminder in Ekurhuleni 1toilet is used by100 people those small green ones and due to tender corruption, they go uncleaned for 3 months. Absolutely disgusting Frame 4: Umlazi township in KZN

The Western Cape and Cape Town, in particular, have the biggest slums in Africa, and black migration in South Africa is partly due to the struggle of black and colored people to find jobs, get promotions, and start businesses there because of apartheid-era type racism. The DA government's reduction in building houses in Cape Town has led to a huge shortage of accommodation. Meanwhile, international irregularly documented migrants from countries like Israel and Ukraine are driving up property prices in the Cape, forcing blacks and coloreds to migrate to ANC-run cities and provinces for better economic opportunities and affordable housing. Blacks and coloreds in other provinces risk impoverishment and homelessness if they allow the DA to expand its governance beyond Cape Town. Unfortunately, due to the fact that the South African media is largely owned by former apartheid-era companies, there's a lot of propaganda propelling the DA to control more provinces despite its failure to serve black people in the Western Cape. Sadly, many black and colored South Africans lack the resources to travel to the Western Cape to witness firsthand the abject poverty that forces people into drug dealing, extortion, and gangsterism, contributing to Cape Town's highest murder and gangsterism rates in Africa.

They wanted me for FREE!🫣 Mamelodi Sundowns went on & bought me whilst Chiefs kept saying i mustn't sign any extension with Cape Town City. I didn't want to take that risk. The team needed money. I needed improvement in my salary as of now, not 12 months later
