Hey Jasmine… Black pilot here. I think you missed the plot. Then again, that’s becoming a pattern. I graduated from West Point. I went through Army flight school. I learned to fly the AH-64 Apache. I deployed to combat and flew 55 combat missions over Baghdad. Nobody handed me... a cockpit because of my skin color. Nobody lowered the standards for me. Nobody looked at me and said, “Let’s check a diversity box.” That’s what people like you don’t seem to understand. Suggesting that Black pilots, Black engineers, Black doctors, or Black leaders need special preferences to succeed is not empowering, it’s insulting. I didn’t want a different standard. I wanted the same standard. And when you’re flying into combat, the American people don’t care what race the pilot is. They care whether the pilot is qualified. Merit isn’t racist. Excellence isn’t discriminatory. And reducing every achievement to skin color says far more about your worldview than it does about mine.show more

OUCH. So, according to Hollywood elites, if you’re Black, America First, qualified, and accomplished—you’re just a “D.E.I. hire.” Interesting take, D.L. Because when I was climbing into the cockpit of an Apache, flying combat missions over Baghdad, I don’t recall my skin color being a qualification for war. And when I won two Congressional races in a majority-white district, I don’t remember voters saying, Let’s elect him because he’s Black. No—people chose me because they believed I was the most qualified for the job. The left’s obsession with Donald Trump has completely eroded their ability to think critically. How do we know? Because you’re out here comparing my resume to Kamala Harris’.

Black woman called me disgusting after my reaction to Karmelo Anthony supporters saying they would defend him regardless of the facts. I get told I shouldn’t criticize Black people because I’m Black. Sit with how strange that is. The same person calling me a sellout just handed me a set of required opinions based on nothing but my skin color and then called me the problem. The bottom line is it’s not the skin color that’s the problem it’s the culture.

I’m a God-fearing husband and father. I was born in Texas. I’ll die here. And I’m committed to leaving this state better than I found it for them. None of this is about race. It’s about service, faith, family, and responsibility. That’s what I love about Texas.

There are hundreds of white people on Twitter upset that I spend my money with Black businesses. I don’t care. We’ve got to stop letting people gaslight us into thinking racism isn’t real or that group economics isn’t necessary for Black progress. Right now, Black unemployment is up to 7.2%. For Black women, it’s risen from 5.5% to 6.3% since last year. If we’re serious about confronting discrimination, we have to be intentional about supporting each other. That’s not racist — that’s wisdom. There are always a few Black folks who choose to serve white supremacy. Darrell Glasper is one of them. If you call a Black man a “cancer” for standing up for his people, you’re not just out of line — you’re a tool of the very system we’re fighting. We have to call that out as boldly as they attack us. I’m a free Black man, and I act like it. My doctors? Black. Landscaper? Black. HVAC tech? Black. Electrician? Black. Esthetician? Black. Lawyers, tailor, publicist, business manager, print shop, mechanic — all Black. When I host events, I choose Black venues. Because the Black dollar has to build Black economic power. If you’re white in America, you don’t have to try to buy white — it’s the default. So don’t be offended when Black people choose to be intentional about building our own economic future. The Black Coffee Theory just explained why most people never get what they want in life. You walk up to the barista dying for a latte. She asks what you want. You know, it comes to a point where supporting and defending your community just becomes so exhausting that you feel this frustration, and you start to understand why people have the Black fatigue that they talk about — Guess what? I'm Black and I have Black fatigue” “I am tired of the wrong type of people in our community, because let me preface this, this is not all Black people. This is not. You have people over here making life miserable for other fellow Americans because you have no manners, you have no standards, you have no morals. I don't care how you were brought up. What a concept” For those that don’t know what “Black fatigue” is here’s a description “‘Black fatigue’ describes frustration or exhaustion with negative behaviors stereotypically associated with some segments of Black culture — such as “ghetto,” “ratchet,” entitled, or victimhood-oriented attitudes, crime, or public disruptions” This woman has incredible self awareness and she’s right, it’s not all black people She’s not trying to offend anyone, she’s asking for accountability and for self introspection. Things can change and get better but you have to accept there is a problem and work to do better

At one point, my brother, my sister, and I were all deployed in combat zones at the same time. That is the legacy of service my father built, and the calling our family proudly answered. We all attended West Point. I went on to fly 55 combat air missions over Baghdad, saying the Lord’s Prayer before climbing into the cockpit each time. Military service teaches you that duty comes before comfort, country before self, and faith before fear. Real service isn’t about recognition. It’s about answering the call, defending people you may never meet, and being willing to sacrifice for something greater than yourself. Faith. Family. Freedom. Service. 🇺🇸
