@NCAA @NCAA Why not add the “strike zone” box virtually to the broadcast screen the same as MLB broadcasts do. If nothing else that would help police what the actual strike zone is versus what is being called. This would bring instant accountability to umpires.

@NCAA The umpire calls nothing in the lower half of the zone & is very generous in the upper part of the strike zone. Bad, but at least consistent I guess…

@NCAA It should also be mentioned that this ump wasn’t giving either pitcher calls that were low in the zone. One pitcher overcame it, and the other didn’t.

@NCAA College umpires have 100% made softball a hitters game. Girls spend years and thousands of dollars on pitching lessons learning to throw the ball in the river, not only has the river been taken away, but anything belt and above as well.

@NCAA I don't know what it's like in softball, but if it's like baseball, this is just a symptom of the problem. The problem is that the decision for younger umpires to stick with it is not based on how good they are at it; it is based on how much BS they can tolerate.

@NCAA The zone has been horrible all year. No disrespect to big hitters but these umps can’t keep making pitchers put it in a tee for them. My daughter plays in the Big 12 and I’ve seen some umps worse than I saw in travel ball

@NCAA the zone in the ucla game last night got real tight in the bottom of the 7th. fans have been asking for the strike zone box on tv forever. why don't the ncaa and espn do this?

@NCAA This is a strike 1000 times out of 1000. If you are an umpire and get this wrong, you should be relieved of duties immediately, without pay. @ncaa sports is so rigged it’s ridiculous!

@NCAA Yeah the conference tournaments weren't much better. But hey we had record HR season's, maybe just maybe umpire calls have been forcing pitchers to throw it in the middle which might explain the high HR numbers. Just a thought

@_Rachel_i @NCAA If an umpire sees 200 pitches in a game (normally there is more) and misses ten pitches, then they have a 95% rate. No softball player or coach has ever produced at this rate. Try calling pitches that move multiple inches horizontally/vertically. You couldn’t do it #BeQuiet

@FastpitchPower @NCAA Softball home plate umpires are an absolute joke…. Either don’t know the strike zone or are afraid to ring up batters because they’re girls and they’d feel bad. Every home ump should be a former fastpitch pitcher… period.

@NCAA As a parent of a teen athlete I am AMAZED at seeing the unashamed crookedness of referees across so many sports. Today I watched an underdog begin to pull away from the home field favorite- one ref took over the game with penalty shots and turnovers- it was so bad - just takes 1

@NCAA @SoftballPortal I was at the game sitting behind the plate. Ball was in the river. So by your own strike zone diagram it was in fact a ball. TV camera angles aren’t straight on. Ump was fairly consistent and didn’t call the River.

@NCAA That is a strike 99.9% of all calls...check the uniform as to why it was called a ball.
