Extending the ball is not a football move. He needed 3 steps and he only got 2. It doesn’t matter if he had possession with 2 feet in the end zone.

As someone who hates the Ravens, even I was upset by that call. That was the clearest catch of the day.

Let’s be fair, as a Steelers fan, I have to admit that was a touchdown. If the situation were reversed, I’d be pissed too. In my view, it felt like the refs did Tomlin a favor, which is pretty suspicious if you ask me. I can’t stand when things are handed out instead of earned.

That’s it the fact that they let toe taps count as catches on the sideline is why it’s a unclear rule!!

Two feet plus a football move or 3rd step has been the rule since 2018. These rules apply to toe taps as well. Surviving the ground, tucking the ball, stepping out of bounds, etc. Are all potential football moves.

Learn the rules. Possession +two feet does not equal a catch. Have to have the third element of a football move which he didn’t have. Correct call.

it’s all about surviving the process of the catch… (3rd step/football move/maintain possession through catch) but here’s the same scenario when odell catches the ball, gets 2 feet down but the ball gets knocked out going on his 3rd step.

Aren’t all two feet toe tap sideline catches now incomplete by whatever garbage rule the NFL used to prop up Aaron Rodgers? I hate the Ravens, but not enough to try to defend this season stealing hideous call. Goodell sucks.
