seems like twitch’s anti-viewbotting program is mostly targeting and suppressing people who are not botting, all while it has not targeted or suppressed the viewership of ANY of the site’s worst botters. Not sure how they’re running this program. Seems to me, there has to be manual aspects to it and the people behind it are not truly understanding who is and is not botting, or rather, what dictates a natural real viewership versus an imitation of one.

there are hundreds of creators that have replied to this post who are experiencing the same thing within the past week or so. if you are still so dense to accuse literally any one of us of viewbotting, you have zero critical thinking skills or reading comprehension.

i dont think people realize as creators we are not making shit off ads. during a 13+ hour stream with 110 average viewers, 6min of ads per hour, i made $9.08 in ad revenue.

@Twitch @TwitchSupport This is normal. These are users logged into your chat but not watching the stream at that time. Maybe through something like chatterino or another third party chat tool

"we found that the tool is being overly aggressive" from the source itself but im just "fear mongering" and "coping because i viewbot and am a bad streamer" :D

the last i will say about this. because people seem to still be confused. with twitchcon coming up, the new update twitch is implementing is “too aggressive,” (stated by the ceo himself,) it is unfortunately removing real viewers from my number. thus, dropping my average by 30+ viewers two weeks before i attend the biggest event of the year to pitch myself as a creator to potential sponsors. my post has nothing to do with OUTING LURKERS.

Don't let anyone tell you its not happening it absolute happening. I had an extension/ handcounts going live as I streamed yesterday. My handcounts always matched the extension, so I had it plotted on a graph. (Missed a small section in the middle unfortunately where Twitch actually counted correctly)

Unrelated (kind of) but its crazy how, simultaneously, they say they made “partner qualification easier” by lowering the number of days streaming needed in the month period, yet not only keep the 75+ avg viewership the same, but suppressing viewership numbers of actual viewers who are present. Seems extremely counter productive to the point. That is with no opinion on the change to qualifying nor my opinion on what/if changes.

I took my time to check every single username on that viewer list (took like 45 mins lol but this intrigued me), because it seems like people in the replies don't really understand what she's trying to show, or the point she's trying to make. Basically none of these are bots, there were 2/3 that I checked that did flag as bots, however I checked the profiles on twitch myself and they look to be completely regular accounts, so the viewers being bots are not the reason. Twitch have clearly f'ed something up with the new bot detection system and it is causing regular viewers (I'd assume accounts that often do not chat, often lurk or don't stream themselves) to not be shown in viewer count. I don't stream myself anymore so idk, but if this actually also reflects in your analytics and your average is going down because of this, you are literally losing out on revenue since any account that is flagged as a bot will not contribute to ad revenue, even if the account is watching an ad it will be blocked (as far as I know, that's how it worked when I used to stream.) This is so dumb and @Twitch @TwitchSupport needs to fix this ASAP.

@Twitch @TwitchSupport If viewers are watching multiple streams, have ad-block, or watch muted with no sound, then it doesn't count their view. Twitch is only hurting their own creators

@Twitch @TwitchSupport This randomly came up on my feed and I’ve also been experiencing this for the past few streams. Partnered streamer saying I only have 20 some viewers? No. The partner discord is of no help either even though people have expressed concern over this as recently as today

@Twitch @TwitchSupport It’s very obvious in small streamers streams. 18 people in the viewer list 16 people typing in chat in the past couple of minutes but only 9/10 being counted during that time.

@Twitch @TwitchSupport this isn't new. live updating the count constantly requires a bunch of API handshakes to server. imagine all streamers count constantly updating every second. that would crash twitch. it's built to update periodically, not be an actual live representation
