He is from Asheville, NC, and was named to the Chancellor's List for Fall 2024, recognizing his strong academic performance. In March 2025, Miguelez drew public attention for an on-campus confrontation with a pro-life display organized by Students for Life of America. Video footage shows him yelling profanities, including "I f***ing hate you," at volunteers before knocking over the table and materials. He was a candidate for SGA sophomore senator at the time, with a platform emphasizing "true justice" and listing his pronouns as "he/him."
