@Martyupnorth_2 @thevivafrei Sounds lovely, except: He was in cabinet (under Harper) in 2008 and 2014 when equalization changes were made to further screw over the west in favour of QC. He'd just be reversing some of the damage he previously supported.

@Martyupnorth_2 @thevivafrei Ahh yes, the old battle cry that it's 'Harper's fault'. 🙄

@Martyupnorth_2 @thevivafrei This is old news however it is imperative the Equalization formula is revised to include Quebec’s Hydro revenue! We just need a government with the guts to do it! They are afraid of losing the Quebec votes if they adjust the formula! However it is the right thing to do to be fair

@Martyupnorth_2 @thevivafrei It may be "old news" to you; however the majority of Canadians are not aware of this. The more condescending you are, the less successful you will be at conveying whatever message you have.

Grok: - Yes, hydro revenue is excluded from Canada's equalization payment calculations, specifically for provinces like Quebec, as noted in the Wikipedia entry on equalization payments. - This exclusion has been a point of contention, with critics arguing it gives Quebec an unfair advantage, allowing the province to receive more equalization funds—$11.7 billion in 2018 out of a $19 billion total. - Between 2005 and 2010, Quebec received 51% more equalization payments ($42.4 billion vs. $28.1 billion) than it would have if hydro revenues were included in the formula, per the same Wikipedia source. - The equalization formula aims to ensure provinces can provide comparable public services at similar tax levels, but the hydro exclusion has been criticized for skewing fairness, especially for resource-rich Western provinces. - Alberta's former premier Jason Kenney pushed for changes to the equalization formula in 2021, citing the hydro exclusion as a key issue, though Alberta alone cannot amend the Constitution.

@Martyupnorth_2 @thevivafrei They hold a knife to Ottawa’s throat threatening separation and the King told them to pay them off in transfer payments so the King could hang onto to his realm and his back door privy councils, siphon money off shore via Global Affairs. We’ve been robbed.
