Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi (2004)

I dunno where these two are now but I hope they’re living their best lives

No Brasil, só conhecemos a abertura que elas gravaram em português. O sotaque delas ficou muito fofinho 😍

supposedly the IRL Ami and Yumi thought their cartoon selves in this show were lesbians. This has been living rent-free in my head for like the last year or so.

Puffy had such a weird degree of popularity in the 2000s. If you watched cartoon network at all, even without watching this show you've heard like 2-3 of their songs at the least

Cartoon Network made many children otaku. The Cartoon Network to otakudom pipeline.

I legitimately forgot they existed until just this moment

This series was actually good. Puffy definitely played a huge influence in the US throughout the 2000s. I'd say it was them and this show that got me interested in Japan as a kid.

It recently dawned on me HHPAY and Panty & Stocking are total antitheses of each other: One's an American cartoon for kids about a Japanese girl pop rock duo. The other is a Japanese anime for adults satirizing crass western comedy.

Core memory unlocked. Holy fuck. I just traveled into my 4 year old head.

If @Tubi can get puffy Ami Yumi that would be so awesome 😭

@McXJ9Nuggets Good thing I breathed new life into Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi.

Kinda bold making a show embracing Japanese culture during an era being an otaku was seen in a bad way.

always wonder what is it that most American Cartoonists can't replicate the anime look but Japanese animators can easily replicate american cartoons

i loved this show omg

fun fact, they did both teen titans opening songs! the english one played when it was a standard episode, and when it was a filler episode they played the japanese intro

Que temazo!! Ese y el de teen Titans me encantan

THIS WAS MY JAM

Bring back Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi this show needs a revival for Season 4

Shame we never got Polish version of the opening.

I can't remember if this was on Cantoon Network or Jetix, I remember seeing it on a lot of ads for it on CN but I always could've sworn it was on Jetix

I was obsessed with them and this show in the 4th to 6th grade lol. I thought they were so cool.

I actually really liked this show

Damn I vaguely remember this show as a kid

@itsmecaia

I watched the show on CN back then. I remember (somewhere) that everyone learned they sang the Teen Titans opening.

Where is the theme song of teen titans?

This was my SHIT. 😩

アニメ始まる前のリアルPUFFYのストーリー そして、最後の挨拶が印象的

Puffy crawled so BTS could run

I used to be fucking obsessed with this show back in like, 2019, or something, I forgot

🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

@CJ_Black0 @GamerPlays1998 always thought it was weird they didn't look like their cartoon characters
