Somalis holding Kenyan citizenship openly advocate for and take pride in their Kenyan identity. However, when Somalis in Ethiopia express a similar sense of Ethiopian identity, they are often labeled pejoratively as 'Xabash.' Why do you think the reason, considering that both people share a common ethnic heritage yet reside in different nations?"

My Farther mohamed farah musa alias shaur who was isiolo chief at that time had connections with the anti Colonial struggles. He was arrested in 1956 for feeding the mau mau. The debate over NFD future was indeed a critical moment in kenya history.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece of history. Itโ€™s true, our grandfathers loved each other, believed they r the same people & viewed issues from a certain perspective. Some of us still believe that. ManshaAllah

A great narration indeed these are the forefathers who fought for the region NFD legendaries. The claims of being neglected and marginalism still exist in kenya after 60 years of independence .

Interesting story. Thanks. The missing bit is where does the professor stand on the question of the five Somali inhabited regions exercising their rights?
