⚡ High-speed sorting with a pneumatic kick. This automation system uses a high-frequency pneumatic cylinder to rapidly reject selected items from a moving conveyor. Fast actuation, precise timing, and synchronization are key to keeping production moving. How would you improve this system’s speed and accuracy? 🎥 Media: asicko2026 (... show more

what are you gonna do about the missed one?

A vision system on the reject side to verify which parts actually got kicked would be a nice add — catches misfires before they become scrap. What's the cycle time you're hitting?

I'd replace the pneumatic kick with a linear servo (for longevity first and precision second). Look at Linmot for inspiration. I can see replacing that solenoid valve monthly at this rate. If the output is not solid state, now we are talking about other wear components.

The timing and precision here are impressive. I think adding smarter sensors and optimizing the air pressure could help improve accuracy while keeping the sorting process fast and consistent.

Probably could improve the guide by replacing it with two channels so it doesn't need to be knocked as far by the servo.

Useful thread, thanks for sharing.

Does it use vision or color classification? That kind of speed is very good
