[HIJACKING AND KIDNAPPING] Police foiled a kidnapping plot in Katlehong, resulting in the rescue of two victims and the arrest of four suspects, including a popular Vaal DJ Spitjo from Sebokeng. Preliminary report suggests that, information was received from a night-shift security officer at Eastgate Mall regarding suspicious activities... involving individuals impersonating another person using her mobile phone. Acting on this intelligence, police initiated a coordinated, intelligence-driven operation which led to the arrest of three suspects at Eastgate Mall. Subsequent investigations directed the police to a safe house in Dikole Section, Katlehong. Upon arrival, an exchange of gunfire ensued. One additional suspect was apprehended at the scene, and two unlicensed firearms with live ammunition were recovered. Two victims, a male and a female, were found at the ‘safe house’ and rescued without injuries. The female victim had earlier been hijacked while driving a navy blue BMW X3 and was subsequently forced to transfer an estimated amount of R180,000 from her bank accounts.show more

An hour later, at approximately 4:20 a.m., a second robbery occurred at a spa in the area of Birchmount Road and 14th Avenue in Markham. Three suspects forced their way into the business while armed with a firearm. They stole one of the victim’s vehicles and fled with a quantity of cash. In both incidents the suspects arrived in a stolen white Acura. On November 28, 2024, investigators located the stolen Acura and three suspects were taken into custody for possession of the stolen vehicle. On December 6, 2024, at approximately 1 a.m., a third armed robbery of a spa occurred in the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Steeles Avenue in Toronto. On December 8, 2024, two additional robberies were reported, one at approximately 3:20 a.m., in the area of Carlingview Drive and Renforth Drive, and the other at 3:45 a.m., in the area of Finch Avenue and Keele Street. A 22-year-old woman, an IIT graduate and the daughter of a senior bureaucrat, was found dead at her home in southeast Delhi's East of Kailash area. Police said she was raped before being strangled to death with a phone charger. She was alone at home at the time of the incident. There were no signs of forced entry. Police have arrested a 19-year-old domestic help, Rahul, who had worked at the house and was dismissed over a month ago. "Investigations revealed that he used to play online games and would borrow money from other servants in the vicinity, or from domestic staff working in nearby households, without ever repaying them. This is why he was fired," Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said. He was arrested from a hotel in the Dwarka area, where he had been hiding. He is being charged with rape, murder and robbery, police said. Rahul was seen in CCTV footage leaving the victim's residence at 6:28 am, police said. According to police, the woman was found by her family members inside the house under suspicious circumstances, after which the authorities were alerted. The victim had completed her schooling at DPS RK Puram and later graduated from IIT Delhi. She was preparing for the UPSC examination. She was also a dancer and had won several awards in dance competitions. Her elder brother holds a senior position in a multinational company, and her mother is a doctor. When police reached Rahul's residence in Alwar, they found that he had previously been involved in a sexual harassment case. Police said the accused arrived in Delhi from Alwar the previous night and is suspected to have entered the house using a spare key. Air1 Assists TPS in Locating Suspects in Shooting Investigation The DRPS Air1 helicopter assisted Toronto Police Service in the arrest of two suspects in a shooting investigation. On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at around 4:00 p.m., officers from Central West Division responded to the area of Thickson Road North and Taunton Road East after receiving information from Toronto Police Service that two suspects involved in a shooting in Toronto earlier that afternoon were in the area. Air1 conducted an aerial search of the area and located the suspect vehicle in a driveway of a residence in Whitby. Shortly after, the vehicle left the residence and Air1 followed the vehicle into Oshawa, providing updates to TPS and DRPS officers on the ground. At one point, the suspect got into another vehicle, which Air1 began to follow. At approximately 5:15 p.m., units were able to box in the vehicle the suspects fled on foot. Air1 followed one suspect, and he was taken into custody. At approximately 6:00 p.m. Air1 located the second suspect in a nearby playground and he was taken into custody. FCT Police Command have arrested six kidnappers and recovered ₦8.25 million paid as ransom for the release of a female victim abducted in Abuja. The suspects were apprehended by detectives of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) following intelligence-led investigations and sustained surveillance after the victim regained her freedom. Recovered exhibits include the ₦8.25 million ransom, two vehicles, mobile phones, jewellery, a laptop, a cutlass, and other items suspected to be proceeds of crime.

The murders are believed to have taken place between November 2023 and August 2024 in which two taxi owners, a taxi driver and a member of a taxi association were gunned down. Two of the suspects were arrested at Mall of Africa in Midrand, Johannesburg on Friday, 08 November 2024, while another one was arrested in East London on Saturday, 09 November 2024. Four other suspects that are also seen in this video have been taken in for questioning by SAPS. Police have seized four pistols and an AK47 from the suspects. These firearms and rifle have been taken in for ballistics testing to determine their linkage to the murders and any other serious and violent crime. This matter is still under investigation and police will not comment further.

On Dec. 3, 2025, four masked individuals wearing all-black clothing and carrying hammers were seen entering Erin Mills Town Centre. Mall security and an on-site paid-duty police officer spotted the suspects and pursued them. Security apprehended one of the suspects, while the other three escaped in a stolen Honda CR-V. On Dec. 3, 2025, four masked individuals wearing all-black clothing and carrying hammers were seen entering Erin Mills Town Centre. Mall security and an on-site paid-duty police officer spotted the suspects and pursued them. Security apprehended one of the suspects, while the other three escaped in a stolen Honda CR-V. No injuries were reported, and no property was stolen from the mall. Great collaborative work between Security and Police. Don’t worry. We caught them! Stay Tuned for Part 2
