As a former teacher, I told my boys to take care of business if they were to get bullied. Luckily, they weren’t bullied, but I made sure to tell them they had to stand up for themselves. Bullies will never be dealt with. The victim is told to just stay away from the bully, and avoid any interaction. The bullies are suspended, only to come back angrier than when they left. Add to the fact they are now behind in school because chances are 100% that they didn’t do any of their classroom work, and the cycle resets itself. Bullies get bullied at home. Bullies should get some anger management classes from the guidance counselor, and have their diplomas held back. I left teaching about 12 years ago because the parents let their kids act like a&&holes.

I have bullying to thank for me being who I am. Everyone deserves to be an individual, but conforming to society is important. I still have my nerdy hobbies and passions as an adult, but it’s not my whole personality, like someone who’s never been bullied would make it.
