I think the Mamdani that we saw in the campaign trail, who was a lot more calm, who was a lot warmer, who was a lot more embracing, was not present in that speech. And I think that Mamdani is the one you need to hear from tonight. There are a lot of people trying to figure out, can I get on this train with him or not? Is he going to include me? Almost everyone who love sowore felt very disappointed in his released statement. How on earth would sowore called a criminal case that was taken to court oppression, with all the evidence on all social media? I saw many people who had always respected sowore start calling him out across all social media. He made a very big blunder and i don't know how he can ever recover from this because people on social media will always use this mistake as a weapon against him. The funniest part is that he can't do anything without the people's support😔.

Apart from this humongous feat, what was equally interesting was how the awareness drive was carried out to encourage people to participate in the mega event. Instead of relying only on traditional posters or announcements, there were nukkad nataks and folk artists performing with dhol and manjira at bus stands and busy street corners, explaining why planting trees matter and what the campaign is all about. A smart way to spread awareness because most people don't read govt notifications or follow every campaign on social media, but they'll stop for a street performance. Someone waiting for a bus is far more likely to remember a simple message delivered through folk music than another poster or hashtag. Planting crores of saplings is one part of the effort. Getting ordinary people to understand why trees matter and feel connected to the campaign is just as important. Using local artists for that was a thoughtful and effective approach.

The founding father of Mozambique, the revolutionary President Samora Machel, spoke about how a society can be destroyed by superstition in a speech he gave while visiting Zimbabwe in the 1980s. He said superstition is not good for a nation. To be superstitious is not good. I see this problem every day on my social media accounts. I have over 1.7 million people following me across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and what really worries me is the level of superstition on the comments sections of my social media platforms, even among young people. I can understand older people because that is the world they know and how they were brought up, but what is disturbing is that even young people believe in superstition. As President Samora Machel said, this creates barriers. It creates barriers to success because you are constantly thinking that someone is trying to bewitch you. When this way of thinking is planted in the minds of young people at a young age, they grow up believing it and carrying it into adulthood. It breeds fear, suspicion, and paralysis instead of confidence, hard work, and clear thinking. It is deeply sad and it holds our societies back. President Machel argued that obscurantism was especially dangerous because it makes people accuse each other of witchcraft, destroys social trust, encourages paranoia and fear, and kills rational thinking, science, and modern state-building.

The founding father of Mozambique, the revolutionary President Samora Machel, spoke about how a society can be destroyed by superstition in a speech he gave while visiting Zimbabwe in the 1980s. He said superstition is not good for a nation. To be superstitious is not good. I see this problem every day on my social media accounts. I have over 1.7 million people following me across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and what really worries me is the level of superstition on the comments sections of my social media platforms, even among young people. I can understand older people because that is the world they know and how they were brought up, but what is disturbing is that even young people believe in superstition. As President Samora Machel said, this creates barriers. It creates barriers to success because you are constantly thinking that someone is trying to bewitch you. When this way of thinking is planted in the minds of young people at a young age, they grow up believing it and carrying it into adulthood. It breeds fear, suspicion, and paralysis instead of confidence, hard work, and clear thinking. It is deeply sad and it holds our societies back. President Machel argued that obscurantism was especially dangerous because it makes people accuse each other of witchcraft, destroys social trust, encourages paranoia and fear, and kills rational thinking, science, and modern state-building.
