Mattson has conceptualized, developed, branded, and scaled hundreds of product lines, and in the process created billions of dollars in revenue for clients Right now their Big Food clients are asking them to do experiments that will reformulate ingredients so that their food can bypass the effects of Ozempic, wegovy and other GLP-1 weight loss drugs They’re engineering the food to be more addicting This is what I believe is really going on. So many advertisements tricking men and women alike into potentially harming their own health. The FDA needs to look beyond Hims and consider the broader landscape, including Ro, Willow, and others, all of which are engaging in what appear to be very unsafe practices. Muscle loss with age is common, but much of that decline is driven by inactivity, not aging alone. On average, we reach peak muscle mass somewhere between 20 and 30, then lose about 8% per decade after that. By the time many adults reach their 70s and 80s, they may have only 60–80% of the muscle mass they had at 30. A big reason why is anabolic resistance. As we get older, muscle becomes less responsive to amino acids, one of the key signals for building and maintaining muscle. This is where resistance training becomes non-negotiable. It's one of the main signals that tells muscle to grow. And just as importantly, it helps re-sensitize muscle to amino acids, so the body responds to protein more like it did when you were younger.

The MEDV "$1.8 billion with two employees" story is bullshit. (We literally run ads for multiple 9+ figure GLP-1 brands.) Hims does $2.35 billion in revenue with 2,000 employees across GLP-1s, hair loss, ED, TRT, and an entire Hers division. And they're one of the best operators in the space. Telehealth is a commodity product. Price is the number one lever, making retention brutal (customers will bounce to the next introductory offer). To win, you need cross-sell into other service lines to build enough LTV to absorb $400-600 CACs. As Sam puts it: "Unless you have the capital to support that, or you're basically running a giant Ponzi scheme for a period until it works, it's not real good."
