At 73, I'm probably just a decade or so younger than these guys. But I had a career as an engineer, mostly writing machine controls software. I'm not the least bit surprised or confused by "self-driving" cars. Surprising what a few years and a different life experience makes.

Not gonna lie, I will be like that the first time as well when I finally get to get in one.

I used to watch "Knight Rider," and fantasized about having a self driving car until I became a driver myself. Now I couldn't picture myself trusting an autonomous vehicle one bit. If the computer has total control of the vehicle anyone hacking it takes that control. Without a manual override, you'll never get me in one.
