‘Young Lion’ is the last song on Modern Vampires of The City, which was my last album as a member of Vampire Weekend. But it was born in the final weeks of us making Contra. In this video I dig into the origin story of the song and unearth its early demos and inspirations. After we visited Chettiyalathur, and interacted with the people who live there, we held a detailed discussion with the District Collector and other officials about how to help resolve some of the complex and pressing issues they are facing. Hopefully some progress will be made in the next few meetings, this was at least, a good start.

The day of the JEF Leaders’ Summit in Helsinki started with a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The United Kingdom is a highly valued strategic partner and ally for Finland. It was a great pleasure to continue our discussions on current foreign and security policy issues, as well as European security. We last spoke about a week ago in London. We appreciate the UK's leadership as the framework nation for the JEF. The UK has shown its strong commitment to our cooperation and to our region. #JEFHelsinki
