Historic! It looks like Hawai‘i will pass the nation’s first-ever green fee — a small increase on hotel stays that will make a huge impact for our islands.

With more than 10 million visitors a year, we need resources to protect our beaches, create fire breaks, fix parks and bathrooms and keep our islands safe and beautiful.

The green fee will bring in over $100 million every year — giving us the power to restore what we love, respond quickly to climate disasters and safeguard our future. Mahalo to the Legislature for getting it done — this is leadership that matches Hawai‘i’s values.

So now you’re just money grabbing, you will hurt our economy. This is a foolish move. “Climate change” as your teams religion is a hoax, it’s nothing more than a money grab. Corrupt people will pocket that money, name how it will be spent specifically to stop climate change. 😂😂 stopping the climate from changing, so foolish.

Is this just a “small increase” on hotel stays or on everyone renting less than 6 months too? Let’s just call this what it is.. a tax. It’s even more taxes levied against the highest taxed citizens in the nation. I don’t think celebrating this is a good thing.

Visit the Fiji Islands. Golden sand, crystal clear ocean, stunning sunsets. Multi Award winning resort.

There is no limit to Government greed.

More revenue to launder and line the pockets of bureaucrats- never to be seen again- no matter what it is earmarked for

Way to sink your own tourism comrade

Great tax tax tax tax. How about the people of Hawaii who work in the tourist arena. Less visitors = less income. @gophawaii GOLDSTAR OHANA OF SGT DREW SCOBIE KIA 1-10-14 AFGHANISTAN ❤️ 🇺🇸
