Hit Factory Started it again a while back and this sequence blew my mind. We can barely get people sitting in a real room these days.

enjoying THE PITT, but watching it alongside my first full E.R. watch-through really isn’t fair. even on a purely formal level, E.R. is so dynamic, so inventive with its camerawork & compositions...distinctly cinematic. makes the newer series feel flat, lackluster by comparison.

@HitFactoryPod You gotta remember ER premiered the season after JURASSIC PARK came out so Crichton was the biggest name in entertainment. NBC invested in this hard because Spielberg's name was on it, too. Most drama series in 1994 did not look like this.

@HitFactoryPod As someone who spends a LOT of time in the PICU, this show nails the pace, atmosphere, and heartbreak of a hospital emergency room.

@HitFactoryPod This is such a good point. The Pitt thrives on being a realistic portrayal. But ER just kept you in the edge of your seat and was always trying something new in terms of narrative or technicality.

@HitFactoryPod This reminds me of that one time a doc on ER got his arm chopped off by the helicopter blade then a helicopter fell off the roof on to that same doc.
