TPS was never meant to be a permanent immigration policy. Our broken immigration system needs lasting solutions from Congress, not endless temporary extensions. But Congress created TPS for extraordinary circumstances when it is unsafe for people to return home. That is exactly what Venezuela is facing today after the devastating earthquakes.
