Unfortunately it’s a massively contrived scene. This supposed genius, knowing the gang is trying to kill her, takes off running straight down the street giving the truck a very easy target. Even criminals know better than to try and outrun vehicles, but the writers wanted their shot and apparently couldn’t be bothered to keep her ‘genius’ intact while doing it.
