Footage from this morning shows concrete blocks painted yellow being moved by heavy machinery. Yellow metal signs will also be attached to them. On Friday, Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the physical markers so that the boundaries of the military’s control are clearly visible. He said the markers will serve as a warning to “Hamas terrorists and Gaza residents that any violation or attempt to cross the line will be met with fire.” The IDF has killed several Palestinians in recent days, saying that they crossed the Yellow Line and posed a threat to Israeli troops. The Yellow Line, as drawn out by mediators, encompasses over half of the Strip’s territory, or 53% — most of which is outside of urban areas.

Ahmad Munir Khalil Zaza, West Jabalia Battalion engineering chief, was struck Saturday. The IDF says he built explosive devices, booby-trapped homes, and recently planted explosives near the Yellow Line targeting troops. Villagers had tried to defend their community with little more than stones as armed settlers stormed the village. 🇮🇱 Following the incident, Netanyahu announced the DEMOLITION of the family’s homes, declared the village a “terrorist stronghold,” ordered new military deployments across the West Bank, more checkpoints and road closures, and accelerated the legalization and expansion of Israeli settlement outposts. Settlers also attacked Awarta, setting homes ON FIRE while families were still inside and opening heavy fire at Palestinians trying to stop them. In Far’ata, settlers advanced after being repelled from the nearby village of Jit. At least 7 Palestinians were WOUNDED, including 4 by live fire and 1 critically, while homes and agricultural land were burned. Settlers also attacked the nearby village of Imatin.
