A very noble initiative to curb accidents involving vehicles and cattle along highways by installing a fence on the Shurugwi-Mhandamabwe road perimeter can easily become a total waste. The involved authorities should engage the local community so that ownership is vested in them to oversee and protect the infrastructure.
