When I was about 12, I hitched a ride on the back of a truck. It hit a bump, my foot slipped, and I was dragged for about 0.3 miles - less than 10 seconds, but long enough to tear up my sneakers and shred my big toe and the two beside it. I never did that reckless stunt again.
